From observing his friends, dates typically involved cuddling with a movie, a walk in the park, maybe even shopping. Jeno and Soojung liked staying at home while Haechan and Ayeon liked simple things outside of the house. Zhilan didn't seem to fit into either of those two categories though.
"You want to learn how to ride... a skateboard?" Jaemin asked, looking at the board Zhilan had proudly brought.
"Not how to ride, I already know how to do that." Zhilan said as they walked towards the skate park nearby. "I want to learn a trick."
"And you want me to help you?" Jaemin said, eyeing the girl. Zhilan nodded her head.
"It'll be a good bonding experience." Zhilan said, with a smile on her face.
It'll be embarrassing if either of us falls in the process, Jaemin thought, adjusting his leather jacket.
The jackets were definitely enough for the kids at the park to give the two of them space, which Jaemin didn't mind one bit. It just meant that it would be less embarrassing when his girlfriend fell and ended up clinging on to him.
Jaemin eyes almost popped out of his head as he watched Zhilan run with the skateboard, riding it with ease straight towards a ramp. She let out a small squeal as she reached the top, giving Jaemin a smile before coming back down.
"Gosh, I missed this." Zhilan said as she returned to Jaemin's side, hugging him to stop herself. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You almost gave me a heart attack." Jaemin said, keeping his face serious as he shoved his hands in his pockets. "Why did you suggest this if you already know how to ride a board so well?"
"Skateboarding is fun." Zhilan said, kicking the board and catching it with her hands. "Do you want me to teach you? It's not that hard."
An idea suddenly popped into Jaemin's head. He kept his face straight as he nodded his head. "Sure."
Zhilan placed the board down, grabbing his hands. "Okay, step onto it, one foot at a time. Keep your knees a little bent and try to balance yourself."
"Like this?" Jaemin said, following her instructions. Zhilan nodded her head.
"Good. And when you're ready, push off." Jaemin nodded, doing as the girl told him to.
"Wow, you have good balance. Think I can let go?" Zhilan asked him.
"Sure."
The second Zhilan let go of his hands, he gave a few more pushes, heading straight towards the ramp.
"Oh my gosh, Jaemin be-"
Zhilan stopped yelling as Jaemin went down the ramp like a professional, doing a few tricks in the middle of it all before returning back to her.
He couldn't help but giggle as he stopped, kicking the board up and catching it with one hand, running a hand through his hair with the other. "Surprised?"
Jaemin huffed as he was pushed backwards by Zhilan, the angry look on her face making him laugh even harder.
"Yah, I was so scared that you didn't know how to stop! I can't believe you pretended not to know how to ride a skateboard, I feel like an idiot!" Zhilan exclaimed as Jaemin stared at her intently.
"Of course I know how to ride a skateboard, what do you think we rode before we got our motorcycles?" Jaemin said smiling from ear to ear.
"That's actually how I learned too." Zhilan confessed. "But that was only me, Renjun was too scared."
