[Ice Age] Diego x Reader Book 2.

Y/n POV:

(It's now this scene of the movie:)

"Do you really think it's a good idea to walk in the dark? At night?" I asked while Diego and I walked side by side in a very foggy and rocky path. Sid, in turn, walked in front of us.

"Y/n, don't worry, I mean, what bad could happen here?" Sid started and just when he said that he stumbled on a rock.

"Watch out. There's a stump." Eddie (?) Said to Sid.

"Not anymore." Sid mumbled in pain while holding on to his leg. We continued our journey and saw Manny, Ellie, Crash and Eddie walking in front of us.

"I can hear her, you know?" Manny said to the opossums.

"What do you want, a medal?" Crash (?) said back and as both of the opossums took a step forward, the ground beneath them disappeared and both of them fell down screaming.

This made Ellie worried and run forward but it was interrupted as Diego and I also got up on the rock.

"Woah!" I shouted and was slipping over the edge but luckily I caught on a rock and hung on my claws next to Diego. I also noticed that Sid was hanging from Diego's legs.

"Stop moving!" Diego shouted as he tried to keep himself and Sid from falling. They did as instructed and stopped moving and caught their balance.

"Thank you." Diego sighed in relief and just then one stone cracked which caused the stone slabs to drop a little lower and the balance left completely. This left us all screaming and Sid dropped, letting go of Diego's legs, but luckily he landed on another slab. For my part, I was now hanging from Diego.

"Manny! Ellie! Lock trunks!" Diego shouted at them but they disobeyed immediately as instructed and Ellie scoffed.

"Diego!?" I screamed in fear as my grip on Diego started to slip and I didn't want to hurt him so I didn't dip my claws into him completely.

"Now!" Diego shouted at them again and finally they obeyed, and we got to balance the large stone slabs again.

"Crash! Eddie! Grab onto that ledge!" Diego commanded the opossums below us and it made them both laugh nervously in fear.

"Funny. Now, what's your real plan?" Crash (?) asked back.

"Just do it!" Diego shouted back at them.

"Bye, Eddie!" Crash said and hugged his brother.

"Bye, Crash!" Eddie said and hugged his brother back.

"Bye, Ellie!" Crash shouted again and waved his hand at Ellie.

"Go, now!" Diego shouted at them again and so did they. They were able to grab the edge and stop the rotation of the stone slabs.

"Um... uh... I'm sorry if what I said before offended you." Manny began to apologize to Ellie.

"What do you mean 'if' it offended me?" Ellie asked back in rage and set off to reverse back which caused me, Diego and Ellie to detach the stone slab beneath the other slab.

"'That 'if offended her! 'That' if offended her!" Crash (?) Shouted for correction to Manny.

"I-I mean' that'! 'That' it offended you." Manny quickly told Ellie and continued,
"You just ovverreacted; that's all." Manny said.

"What?!" Ellie asked angrily and pulled her trunk out of Manny's.

"Take it back!" Eddie (?) Shouted from below us.

"There are other lives at stake here!" Crash (?) Shouted while Eddie (?) Held on to keep him from falling.

"Wait a minute. He's got a point." Sid started while hanging with both hands from the edge.

"He's got nothing!" Eddie (?) Shouted back at Sid.

"It was a misunderstanding!" Sid shouted back.

"It was insensitive!" Crash (?) Shouted in defense.

"Apologize!" Diego yelled at Manny and Ellie while I felt that my grip was close to coming off.

"Why me? She overreacted! " Manny said back.

"Diego, I'm going to drop!" I cried out in fear because I couldn't hold on any longer, I noticed Diego looking at me in fear and then he turned back in the direction of Manny and Ellie,

"Just Apologize!" Diego shouted again.

"No!" Manny resisted.

"Do it!" Diego shouted.

"Okay! I'm sorry!" Ellie shouted at the boys.

"What?!" Manny, Sid, Crash, and Eddie shouted at the same time as the stone slabs stopped spinning.

"He's right. I overreacted." Ellie said but her voice was much gentler than before.

"You mean you-" Manny started but Diego interrupted him.

"Not another word, or I'll come down there and put you over myself!" Diego shouted at him furiously. Then he turned to me,
"Y/n! Can you drop to the lower slab?" Diego asked me.

"What?! No! I can't!" I said because it scared me, what if I drop at the wrong time and drop down to death?!

"Please, Y/n!"

"O-Okay, f-fine!" I said and waited until I saw another stone slab spinning below me and I took my grip off of Diego and with a little scream I dropped to the lower slab.

"Y/n?! Are you okay?" Diego asked worriedly.

"Yes!... or at least mostly." I said because we hadn't gotten out of here yet.

"I got it... I... got it... I got it..." I heard Sid say to himself and I looked at him and I saw that he tried to catch the edge of the cliff but dropped himself and this caused the balance from the stone slabs to go.

"Manny, Ellie, Y/n, run! Run!" Diego shouted as the stone slabs began to break and drip down. At the same time, we set off to run toward the edge of the cliff. Manny and Ellie got there before me and Diego so it ended up that we both jumped as far as we could and when we realized we couldn't get there, we closed our eyes. However, we opened them because we felt that something grabbed us, namely Manny had caught Diego's paw and Ellie had mine.

"I guess we finally did something right together." Ellie started in a gentle voice and looked straight into Manny's eyes.

"HeHe, Hey, don't mind me. Just hanging off the edge of a cliff here. Ha-Hoo." Diego said and laughed nervously.

"Just, don't let go of me, okay?" I said and both, Ellie and Manny helped me and Diego up on four legs. The only thing I heard was just everyone's relieved sigh.
