[Ice Age] Diego x Reader Book 2.

Y/n POV:

Darkness, it was the only thing I saw, coldness, it was the only thing I felt, until...

"-love you, I love you, I love you, open your eyes, Y/n open your eyes..." I heard Diego saying quickly next to me but his voice was still a little distant.

"Y/n, darling, open your eyes, don't leave me, don't leave us, please..." Diego continued saying quickly but this time his voice was much clearer and closer. I felt like I wanted to open my eyes and cough the waters out of my mouth, and that's exactly what I did.

"Y/n!" Diego shouted as I got up and spun to my side and coughed the waters out of my mouth and took a deep breath.

"You're alive, good, you're alive..." Diego said with relief and pressed his face to my neck.
"You're alive..." Diego said and this time he laughed in relief.

"Yes! Y/n you're okay! You're okay!" Sid said and hugged me.

"Is Ellie-?" I started asking and when I looked up I saw Ellie standing next to Manny and she interrupted me.

"Yes, I'm okay sweetheart." Ellie replied and I nodded.

"Good... good..." I said with relief and got up on all four of my legs.

"We're gonna live!" Sid shouted happily in front of us and raised his hands in the air. Then his look changed and he looked down and we all noticed that the water was starting to rise again.
"We're gonna die!" Sid shouted again but this time he didn't sound so happy.

"Y/n, come here!" Diego said and I walked next to him and I was now between him and Manny. However, the water level continued to rise and Crash and Eddie jumped on Ellie's back while Sid jumped on Manny's tusks.

"Y/n, climb on my back!" Manny said next to me. I was tired but I tried anyway and Manny and Diego both helped me. Soon I was on his back and I saw Diego raising his front paws against Manny's side.

We heard cheering and as we looked up we saw that the rock under the boat was crushed which caused the boat to drip onto the water. All the mammals there sounded happy as they had survived the flood and were finally safe. This made me sad because I was wondering what was going on for us. Diego noticed this and lifted his paw in front of me and looked me straight in the eyes, giving me a gentle, comforting smile and I, for my part, laid my own paw on top of his paw.

We all soon heard a loud growl and as we turned our gazes we saw that a huge crack had entered the wall of the iceberg from which the water began to flow away. We also saw that two things dripped down between the crack point but I didn't distinguish what, but it didn't matter because the water started to erode quickly and soon I got to jump off Manny's back and we saw how the water around us was leaving.

"Hmm!" Ellie hummed happily.
"Yeah." Sid said speechless as he looked around. Now was the time when we could all sigh with relief.

"Should we join the others?" I asked playfully and went for a walk to the boat from where all the mammals were heading back to land. Everyone seemed to be happy.

"I'm gonna get you!"
"Oh, no, you won't." Two young mammals said to each other, laughing as they ran past me, Sid and Diego. Manny and Ellie continued to walk in front of us.
