Quick A/N: Okay! Still waiting on some entries but it *hopefully* shouldn't be much longer until I can start working on the plot. That aside, here is the first chapter (finally). Mainly providing background info about the game but it's progress so yayyy!

This was it. The day I finally got to go to play real-life among us.

It was new, the place where I was going, in fact it wasn't technically open to the public yet. Almost nobody even knew it existed- I was just one of the few people who were chosen at random to attend as a 'trial run'.

Now I'm definitely not normally a morning person, but today I energetically sprang out of my bed as soon as the alarm went off, speedily rushing around to get ready - I wasn't going to be late. I don't recall ever being so excited (well, since I started writing stories), but can you blame me? Wouldn't you be excited if you were going to be the first ever person to test out some billionaire's brand new real life version of your favourite game? If you were going to be one of the first people to set foot on 'The Skeld'?

There were only two slight concerns that I had, and that was how the whole thing worked, and who I would be playing with.

Oh well, I think to myself, it'll all be explained when I get there, and the second one... well, I'd made 'friends' with people in servers before, and...

No. This is different. Actually talking to people face to face.

But it's just a game. It's fine, I'm overthinking everything... anyway, right now I need to focus on not forgetting anything.

Agh WHERE is my hairbrush? Oh there it is- wait I swear I saw my phone somewhere a second ago...

"Are you ready yet, Lucky?" My mum calls from downstairs.

"Almost" I reply, finally relocating the device and shoving it into my backpack.

"Let's go" She declares as I hop into the passenger seat of the car.

- time skip -

"So you still don't know when you're going to need picking up?"

"Whenever the game finishes, or we might wanna hang out after" I shrug

"What do you mean 'we'?" She suspiciously asks

"The other people playing the game" I say, looking around. No other cars were in the grassy excuse for a car park outside the slightly run down looking building. "Oh..." I mumble

"This definitely is the right place? You put the correct postcode in? Are you sure this is the right time?" my mother interrogates

"Yes, yes and yes" I laugh. The building does look quite small though...

"Well if you're sure..." yet I can tell she's still a bit skeptical.

"We won't have our phones during the game, so I'll call you when it finishes, okay?" I say, and she nods in response.

After a few seconds of silence, we both suddenly heard a knocking sound. Turning to the left, I saw a man dressed in a black suit tapping on the window, which scared the living daylights out of me.

Taking a deep breath, I wind down the window to talk.

"I presume you're here for the game?" He says, before introducing himself. "I'm Terry, an employee of Mr Corwin, who you've been in contact with. He runs the place"

"Oh, hi-" I begin, about to say my name but he cuts me off to ask.

"Name?"

"I'm Lucky..." I declare, and he quickly scans a sheet of paper he's holding. Smiling, he looks up and nods. Phew.

"If you'd like to come with me, I'll show you to the entrance. A locker will be available for all personal items" he explains.

"Bye sweetie, have fun" my mother calls as I step out of the car

"Bye, call you later" I respond before following 'Terry' inside, almost shaking with both excitement and nervousness at the same time.

"You're the first one to arrive. The others should be here shortly, until then, feel free to have first pick of the suits and hats. The briefing will take place once everyone has arrived, questions will be answered after." He explains. "For now, Jane will supervise you"

A lady with long, black hair tied into a tight ponytail and a bright smile on her face steps forwards. "Hi, you must be Lucky?"

"Yes" I confirm, returning the smile as Terry leaves through the same door we just came through.

"The dressing room is this way, if you'd like to get ready" she says, pointing towards a different door.

Only then do I look around, noticing just how nice and modern it looked like on the inside. Still small, however, and I had no idea where the gameplay area was. As I walk down to the door Jane had pointed to, I notice a different corridor leading to what looked like a giant lift. Huh. It didn't look like there were two floors from the outside, that's odd...

Focusing back on the current task, I open the door with the sign reading 'costumes'. Stepping through, I see a long wardrobe with a row of 12 different coloured spacesuits. On the other side of the room, there are boxes of different hats.

As Terry had promised, there were lockers lined up next to the boxes of hats. Pulling out my phone, I type out a text message.

Hi, I'm inside now. I'm the first person to arrive, but I'm putting my stuff in the locker so I'll call you when it finishes.

I click send, but a little notification pings up. 'Message not delivered!'
Ugh, typical. Never mind though, I'd already told her that I'd call after the game, so it was fine.

Looking at the vast selection of suits, I finally decide on the white one.
Yeah, boring and uninventive, I get it, but it's the colour I use all the time playing among us on my phone, unless it's already been taken. As for the hats... I grab the red devil horns, before putting the suit on over my clothes.

I wonder what it looks like, I think, and as if on cue, I notice a tall mirror in the corner of the room. Woah, this looks cool...

Quickly grabbing my phone back out, I take a picture before shoving the rucksack into a locker. There are multiple zip pockets on the suit, all empty, so I place the key inside one of them.

After deciding to remove my helmet for the time being, I step back outside to talk to Jane.
