2 weeks later... after battling several missions and being flat out exhausted.
TRIGGER WARNING: MENTION OF NEEDLES

It was 2 weeks later, it was pouring rain outside and the leak in the Barack roof kept everyone awake. Newkirk couldn't sleep even without the roof leaking. His mind and baby kept him awake all night, even thought he felt tired. He got out of bed and walked to the bathroom closing the door and turning on the faint light, the only light that worked in the Barack's past 10 PM was any bathroom for emergencies.

He leaned against the sink and looked in the mirror. He yawned and rubbed his eyes before splashing some cool water on his face to help brighten up his skin from the sleepy pale it looked. He yawned as he looked at the clock. 1:43 AM. Pitch black with nothing but the sound of the pouring rain.

He walked back out of the bathroom turning off the light and creeping quietly to his bunk. "Newkirk?" A voice in the Barack asked. Newkirk looked over at Carter. "Oh hey Carter..."

"Are you okay?" Carter's puppy eyes and concern awoke. Carter always had a big heart for people. "Hmm? Oh yeah... I'm fine. Just not sleeping good."

Carter sat up. "I'm not either. The rain is keeping me awake."

"There's plenty of things keeping me awake." The American and English laugh together. Newkirk's bunk was on top of Carter's, so they could talk quietly after Newkirk climbed in his bunk. "Are you sure you're okay? I'm here if you wanna talk?"

"I don't know... sleeping has become impossible so maybe I'll just live with it."

"Normally when I can't sleep I always eat something small. That usually tired me out." Carter said. "If I could do that, I would." Both giggled again and then snuggled up in their blankets. "Goodnight Newkirk."

"Goodnight Carter."

~Morning~

It was roll call and a brand new day. Shultz had a clip board with everyone's name on it to keep track of who was here. "Kinchloe?" Shultz called out. "Yeah here." Kinch responded. As Shultz went through the list, a loud voice in the back boomed. "REPORT!" Klink shouted. He walked over to us as Shultz immediately stood at attention. "All present and accounted for!"

"Thank you Shultz! Now.... I'm afraid I have an important announcement." Klink continued on. His voice got more serious word for word. "Due to some medical records that General Burkhalter has found, he has noticed that someone in this camp is having, let's say, interesting medical issues which resulted in missing supplies. He has found this out by our lovely camp nurse after she has discussed this matter with him for records to go to Berlin. She did not give names, but we are sure to find this out easier than we think."

Everyone's eyes widened and almost wanted to Glance at Newkirk. Newkirk's mouth almost dropped to the floor. Hogan was worried for his boyfriend as they snuck their fingers to intertwine them. Newkirk let out a nervous sweat. "If any man wishes to come forward with some information, please do so now, or later tonight privately if you wish."

Newkirk kept thinking to himself ways to escape the situation. Anyway he thought of was a bad way. He had to tell Klink soon. There was no way he could've hidden it. He tried to speak but his voice wouldn't escape his throat. "If no one comes forward today, each man here is required to take a physical assessment and blood work by our camp nurse. Please think over this decision. The needle isn't tiny either." Klink giggled. "Alright now go. DISMISSED!" Klink saluted off walking into his office. The gang of 5 was the only ones to know anything. "Newkirk-" LeBeau started.

"Don't." Newkirk didn't even give anyone a sentence. His eyes burned with tears he tried to hide. "Newkirk we can work this out-" Hogan began to add on.

"No. Just l- leave me alone." Newkirk ran as fast as his rounding out body could allow him. He ran into the empty storage building hidden behind Hogan's Barack. Newkirk locked the door and began to weep sliding down the door until he was sitting on the ground. A faint knock echoed the door. "Newkirk..." It was Hogan. Newkirk did not feel like talking to anyone at this moment. He wanted to either be hugged and held or just left to suffer. If he had to suffer why should anyone else? "Hogan... I love you but... can I have some time to myself please?"

Hogan was heartbroken. He knew Newkirk didn't want to tell Klink, but the secret was spilling and everyone in the camp was going to be suffering. It wasn't an easy choice. Hogan nodded. "I love you too." And walked away. Newkirk hid his face again, soon placing both of his hands on the crown of his tiny but growing bump. "God you are making me question everything. Aren't you?" Newkirk said and then he sighed.

Several hours passed before Newkirk got the courage to face Hogan again. He talked to the others about every emotion he was feeling. The gang understood and nodded. "Listen, I'm prepared to face any punishment. After 2 years here with a dip head as a Kamedant." Kinch said. "Don't worry. I'm not going to let you get in trouble. I'm going to tell Klink tonight. If he still punishes us.. I'm sorry."

Hogan wrapped his arm around Newkirk. "Do you want me to come with you?" Hogan asked. "No. I need to do this on my own." Newkirk said back.

The gang nodded in agreement. "We will be listening over the coffee pot when you decide to go. Please take your time." Hogan said. Newkirk nodded and laid his head on Hogan's shoulder. The gang went outside to join the others for activity while Hogan stayed behind with the Englander. Hogan placed his hand on Newkirk's rounding belly. "Don't let this be a bad thing. This is amazing and I'm so proud of you."

Newkirk smiled at Hogan. "Thank you." Newkirk said. Hogan and Newkirk shared a kiss in the empty Barack. It was still humid outside from raining, but they enjoyed the sound of the others having fun running around playing soccer.

At dinner they enjoyed Steak and Potatoes. One of the few meals that actually brought them joy at the camp. A prisoner walked out of the camp doctors office with his arm out and a bandaid on it. He was pale, they have taken his blood for testing. "He's Negative. SARGENT PHILLIP CASTILLO!" She shouted and a Sargent down the table gulped before slowly walking out of the hall. Gossip was flying around as the others began talking about everything. Newkirk took a few bites of his food, but felt like he would pass out if he ate anymore. Hogan looked over at Newkirk before sighing. "Are you sure you want to do this tonight?"

"I gotta do it at some point..." Newkirk sighed and ate one more bite of his dinner before walking out of the hall. The gang was quickly behind him to make sure he was okay. "I'm going to see if he's in his office. Hogan will you come with me?" Newkirk asked. Hogan nodded getting up walking out with Newkirk. The others quickly walked out to go to the tunnel. Kinch turns on his coffee pot which beams a red light to show that it's working.

Hogan and Newkirk walk up to the run down office with a big green sign on the wall. They open it to find Helga there at the desk smiling at them. "Can I help you gentlemen?" She asks. Newkirk stepped up for once which he didn't do a lot. "Is Col. Klink in?"

"Yes he is, what do you need him for?" She asked getting her phone to let him know someone wants to see him. "I just need to talk to him." Newkirk continued. His palms were sweating. He was so nervous he was almost shaking. His body almost trembled under the pressure which continued to make him feel sick. "Send him in!" Someone shouts from the other room. Newkirk tried to swallow the lump in his throat but it was almost impossible. The booming voice in the other room was beaming and wanted him there instantly.

Hogan nodded. "Are you ready or sure you want to do this?"

"Yeah..." Newkirk said taking Hogan's hand before walking into the Kamedant's office.
