With Tae saying that about the blood lines to me, made a thought quickly pass my mind.

I knew that Elements to a Fairy was genetic, so how did I end up with every single one of the elements?

How hadn't I ever of thought about this before?

I thought I was just a special person, but I've never had anything to match this against until coming here, nothing spiked the interest to think deeper into my past, and learning all these new things. And also meeting a special person.

Tae could sense the shift in my emotions, as I was going through confusion and curiosity was tugging at me.

"What is it?" He muttered.

"Elements are genetic for Fairies, much like a blood line" I breathed back.

He nodded at me. And then I could see that he was understanding the curiosity side of my emotions.

"For me to be this magical, surely my parents had to be? To make me an Elemental?" I muttered out, thinking out loud.

"You're right" Tae replied.

My thoughts were all over the place, not really making any sense in my mind as I tried to come up with an en empty explanation. I doubt the Institution would ever give me my records, it wasn't a normal thing to ask for.

Tae rubbed my back a few more times, to let me get through my thought process in my own way, but still letting me know he was right here.

I was still quiet as we all made our way to the common room after we gave the canteen staff are dishes. As normal we all settled doing our own things, but still together and the conversation flowed every few minutes as one group.

I had my book in the corner part of the sofa where I normally sat, and Tae would sit next to me. I let it perch on my lap as I folded my legs to the side, my feet going under Tae's thigh slightly, as he played some games on his phone.

"Do you remember that stage of the strengthening of the magical bond?" I heard Jimin ask, making me look up. He was looking at JK, and then glanced over to me and Tae.

I creased my eyebrows together, and watched as JK followed his eye line. They were glancing at my feet, before JK looked at Jimin. I then noticed the others looking our way also.

I started feeling anxious, and I knew Tae wanted to comfort me, but couldn't right now.

"The touching? Yeah it's intense in the first few weeks or so" JK said, smiling over at Jimin.

"It wasn't so bad for us" Hobi breathed out. Yoongi nodded.

"Their magical bond is the strongest I feel out of all of us" Joonie muttered, giving us a small smile as he looked over at us from the coffee table in the middle of the room, leaning over on it.

"I don't doubt that, they are both very powerful" Jin added, nodding at Joonie.

"Maybe it's because of all the touching, Jungkookie come here" Jimin said quickly, and then leant over the same gap between them, and putting his arms around JK's shoulders, pulling him to his chest.

We all laughed at them, as JK grinned over at Jimin.

The ending of all of that put me in a better mood, I decided to put it to the back of my mind until I was ready to sort through the thoughts that never stopped. Or until I figured something else out.

Tae quickly moved himself a foot away from me on the sofa, I glanced over at him quickly, and for some reason that made me feel some sort of rejection.

I watched as he snapped his head quickly to me, narrowing his eyebrows at me, and cocked his head to the side, making me look forward. I was confused for a second until a saw the Commander walk into view.

All of us in the room, tensed up lightly. Jin moved away from Lily, as she also moved back away from him at the same time.

The Commander was looking at me though.

Even Tae was radiating something to me, I guess he didn't like the attention he was solely giving me.

"Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday, Verity. Carry on everyone, no need to jump out of your skin" He said, raising one eyebrow as his lips went into a tight line, like he was trying not to smile.

"Thank you, Sir" I muttered, now feeling awkward, as everyone in the room turned to look at me.

Tae was the first one to speak after the Commander left the archway, "why didn't you tell us?"

I glanced away from him, seeing everyone else looking slightly confused also.

I pursed my lips, "it's just a birthday. I've never had a reason to celebrate it"

And now I was confused onto why the others now looked sad, Lily and Elle pouted their lips slightly. Tae just grit his jaw together, and stood up. All of us looked up at him.

"I'll be back in two hours" he breathed out, and then sorted out his shoes so they were on correctly.

Jin was the first to talk, "Tae, it takes two hours to even get to the town"

JK breathed out a small chuckle, "that's because we go to your speed"

Jin acted offended, and began laughing, making all of us join in.

Tae glanced down at me, giving me a side smile before jogging out of the room.

"Strange seeing Tae like that isn't it" Elle muttered, but gave me a little smile to know it wasn't in a bad way.

"He's just acting how we would do for our partners, if it was us. I'm glad he's finally found his match, three years is a long time" Jimin said, giving me a gentle smile as he looked over to me.

Elle nodded, and went back to doing a puzzle with Hobi, who was quite engrossed in it as he looked back down at it.

And true to his word, just under two hours later, I could feel Tae getting closer to the building, but he went straight into the canteen's kitchen, rather than into the common room where we all were.

Then I heard him about thirty seconds later call for Jimin, his voice echoing down the corridor. Jimin jumped up, giving me a grin before jogging out the room.

I watched the archway curiously as I felt him walked down the corridor.

As Jimin turned the corner, he started singing happy birthday, which made everyone else join in, all smiling at me.

All I could do was give a little smile to Tae, who was grinning at me, holding a chocolate cake on a plate, in his hands. There was a handful of candles on it, with bright flames, making him lean it away from him, I could tell Jimin was the one that lit them.

I rubbed my index finger to my thumb, bringing the flames lower, so Tae started to laugh at the dulling flames, as Jimin patted his shoulder.

Tae came over and held the cake by his stomach, as I blew out the candles.

JK ran out to get bowls and a cutter for us all, and then we all had a slice each. I wasn't remotely hungry, but I still ate all of it as it was really nice with a hazelnut cream filling.

I sat with my legs crossed, Tae's forearm leaning over my knee slightly as he held his bowl, as the others talked about their birthday's here, they would normally have a few drinks the Saturday night, which surprised me. Then I had to tell myself that this wasn't a prison, as Tae had reminded me.

They had gained the trust of the Commander, and it was obvious that everyone here were brilliant Keepers of the Realm... regardless of the personal aspects. I pursed my lips at myself, but shook it away as I looked over at Tae, who had also finished the cake.

"Luckily I ran myself into being hungry" he gave me a small grin.

"Thank you" I smiled.

"You have one reason right here to celebrate your birthday now" he said quietly, making my heart feel so warm and full.
