Today started out normal, or at least that's what I thought anyway. I woke up to my dog running down the hallway and my parents talking. I did my normal routine of eating breakfast, sitting with my dog for a while, listening to music, and then going to goof off instead of working on my homework. Pretty normal, for me anyway. I did a little bit of doodling too. Then I started working on some fanfics, camp camp being one of them.

This was normal for me. I didn't do much in my day to day that really had any special significance. I'm just a normal student who's too lazy to actually want to do any work. But then I did something a little different. I went on a walk. Weird I know, but I honestly can't remember the last time I was out of the house on my own. But what i didn't know was that this was going to be the biggest mistake of my life.

Now i know what you're thinking, no i'm not going to die. This isn't that kinda story yet. I'm not so significant to have someone want to kill me nor am i dumb enough to get hit by a truck or something. Momma didn't raise an idiot, I know how to look both ways and when to book it. No no no, this was something completely different. But instead of me just ranting about my big mistake, why don't i just show you what it is?

"I'm picking up the sent, it seems we're on the right track

The moonlights on the rooftops, the wind is at our back,

We're living in the shadows, we're living for the chase.

Our legacy is in our sights, so let's pick up the pace.."

I was just walking along, softly singing to We Own the Night from the newest Zombie movie from disney. It was peaceful and quiet for the most part. When the song ended I went to find a new one, but i had seen a notification. I got a text from an unknown number. Me, having no interest in anything really going on around me but knowing to stick to the sidewalk, checked it.

'Would you like to learn magic?'

As much as my gut was telling me to delete it, my brain stupidly thought that it would be a good idea to reply with a yes. Nothing really happened afterwards so I just went on with my walk, not noticing the text that showed up a couple minutes later. I went about the rest of my day as normal, and went to bed without even looking at my notifications.
