"Well, it could be worse." He seems a bit annoyed at this.
"How could this possibly be worse?" I shudder.
"They could be swarming me and trying to rip my clothes off." King shudders at this as well.
"Let's forget that for now. How many potions do we have left to deliver?" I open the bag and count.
"Just 4 left. Then we can get some not dogs." He squeals at this and tries to hurry me up. I just chuckled at him before walking a bit faster, not noticing the large amount of blushing faces I left behind.
"Hey king?" It had been a little bit. We only had one potion to deliver and king had been such a good guide that I wanted to get him something as a thank you. So we got not dogs early.
"Yeah luz?" He had his mouth full which was disgusting.
"I've been seeing weird paper looking things popping up out of nowhere all day. What are they?" He looks a bit confused before realizing what i was talking about.
"Ooooh, those are scrolls. We should probably talk to Eda about getting you one." Of course i already knew what they were, i actually was just hoping to bug Eda about getting me one anyway. I just nod at him.
"We should probably get going to the last delivery. I really don't want to deal with the guy longer than I have to." He looks confused before stuffing the last of the Not Dog in his mouth before climbing into my hood.
"Onwards fair chariot!" He practically screams in my ear. I chuckle at him before walking towards our last destination. It didn't take long before we got there, and thankfully it looked like no one was home.
"Oh thank goodness." I just set the potion on the little table he had out and rang the doorbell before walking away.
"That was extremely anticlimactic." King looked a little disappointed that he didn't get to see why i was so reluctant to go there so I thought I should cheer him up a bit.
"Well how about I sing you something? You know, to make up for the boring stuff." He seems to think about it before nodding his approval.
"That will suffice. But you're getting me snacks when we get home!" I chuckle before going over to Eda's area. She left some trash piles, apparently deeming them useless, so it was easy to find. I looked around a bit before finding the guitar I used yesterday. King hopped on top of one of the piles while I strummed a bit, trying to figure out what song to sing. One of Luz's memories hits me like a truck causing me to choke up. Camilla was on the floor, her breathing shallow and shuddering. Someone banging on the door, shouting profanities as sirens were blaring outside. A single gunshot ringing through the air before everything went still. Not a single sound was heard but the soft sobbing coming from the little girl trying to shake her mother awake. Suddenly I knew the perfect song.
"I heard a glass shatter on the wall in the apartment above mine
At first I thought that I was dreamin'
But then I heard the voice of a girl
And it sounded like she'd been cryin'
Now I'm too worried to be sleeping'"
A crowd started gathering again and king was looking at me with eyes wider than I had ever seen them. I let the sadness shine through my eyes as I glanced at him, making him gasp quietly and tear up slightly. I looked around a little bit before, once again, seeing a few familiar green haired faces. I didn't see the one I was wanting to see, but oh well.
"So I took the elevator to the second floor
Walked down the hall and then I knocked upon her door
