Rudolph and I flew in the direction of the catacombs. We weren't in a hurry, we took out time. It's not like the clan was going anywhere. Rudolph broke the silence between us by speaking up. "That was pretty smart." He said. "Hm?" I hummed in response. "You shielding me from the light. Smart idea. As always~" He smiled. I returned the smile, a light blush forming on my cheeks.

I looked up at the moon, taking in the beauty of the night. All was peaceful. Too peaceful. Suddenly, I heard Rudolph gasp and he stopped. I looked to him and he was looking down into the mountains. I followed his gaze and I was shocked to find the same familiar car driving down a dirt path, heading straight for.. Rookery. Rookery had his lights off on his vehicle, making it hard to see him, but from above he was very noticeable. Just then, Rookery started driving towards the car. It took a moment, but I finally recognized the car that was driving towards Rookery. Mom's Car.

Rudolph dived down into the mountains, going as fast as he could. "Stay here." He said, setting me down onto the dirt path. I nodded and he flew off after Rookery. He grabbed onto the chain at the back of the vehicle and quickly tied it around a tree, securing it as much as possible in the little amount of time given. Rookery yelled as he sped up towards our parents. Suddenly, Rookery turned on his bright headlights, attempting to blind the driver in front of him. My parents car started swerving left and right.

Rookery was now a few feet away from our parents car. They were about to crash. Rudolph came and hovered beside me. Just then, Rookery's vehicle came to a sudden stop. Rookery shrieked as he flew off of the vehicle and into the air.

He hit the windshield of the car, then the camper attached to the back, and then the ground. "Yes! It worked!" I exclaimed happily as I jumped around. I grabbed Rudolph's hand and ran up to our parents. All of the adults got out of the car and approached Rookery, who was now standing up. My mother gave me a hug before joining the rest of the angry adults. "You tried to kill my kids." My father said angrily.

Rookery turned around from facing Manny, who was frustratedly walking away. "Oh, I am so sorry. I'm sorry I missed squashing your little brats! Including your girl over there!" Rookery said. I gave him a sour look, and he returned the favor. "Come on. Mano a Mano!" My father said, positioning himself in a fighting stance. Rookery laughed evilly. "My pleasure.." he said as he took out the spanner. My father stepped back in shock.

Rookery came forward and took a powerful swing at him. My father ducked just in time. Rookery raised the spanner above his head, ready to hit him. Before I could act, a voice rang out through the night sky. "Yee haw!" Tony shouted as him, Anna, and the cow landed on top of Rookery, crushing the man. "Sorry dad. I knew you could have kicked his butt." Tony said with a smile as he hovered up and off of Rookery. The man lied unconscious on the ground.

The vampire mom put a hand on my father's shoulder. "Bravo! That was so brave." She said with a smile. "Yes, well done. Now, I can finish the job and save the clan!" Rudolph's father said. "That won't be necessary anymore." Anna laughed. Their father sighed, figuring out that the job was already done. "Do you know it's my youngest son's birthday today?" The vampire mom said. "Really?" My mom asked. The vampire woman nodded. "And your children have given him the best gift of all." The woman said, taking my dad's hand. "Ah, yes. Friendship." The other vampire parent said, taking my mother's hand. "I think it's a little bit more than that." Rudolph whispered into my ear. I giggled and whispered back to him. "I think so too."

The vampire parents started flying upwards into the sky, bringing my parents along with them. Rudolph and I flew after them, eventually catching up. Tony flew right beside us on the cow. "Mom, Dad! What do you think?" Tony asked. "Your new friends are fantastic. Even if they are.." my dad paused. "Vampires?" Tony asked. "European!" My Dad said. The parents smiled as Rudolph and I laughed. Suddenly, a swarm of undead beings flew around the mountain and through the sky. There was one particular vampire leading the way for the rest.

"Its Gregory! With the others!" Anna exclaimed happily as she flew forward a bit. Gregory spotted us and flew towards us. "Gregory!" His father greeted. "Father!" Gregory said happily. The vampires flew in a huge circle around us. "Happy birthday Rudolph!" They said. They kept flying around us and people took their turns to say happy birthday. "You did it! You saved your family!" Tony said. "Me? No no, you both did it!" Rudolph said. "Us! Immortal and mortal together! It gives me hope for many things." Anna said.

Anna hopped onto the back of the cow with Tony and they joined the others in flying around. I chuckled and turned to Rudolph. His gaze met mine. I took a deep breath and worked up the courage to do something I've been wanting to do. I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. When I reconnected my gaze with his, his face was red. I'll have to admit, I might have gone a little red there too. "Happy birthday Rudy." I said with a shy smile. He wrapped me up in a hug, twirling us around. I laughed and hugged him back.

He stopped and began to look sad. Tony flew up next to us. "What's wrong? It's your party." Tony said. "He hates his birthday." Anna replied. "No, that's not it. It will be daybreak before you know it." Rudolph said. "Oh.. I forgot all about daybreak.." I said, going back to holding his hand. "We need a new home." Anna said. "I've got an idea!" I exclaimed.
