"Oh? It seems that the products are not as spooked as all the others..." One of the demon guards noted. "What is with that?"
"That one is glaring at me..." One of them commented. It pointed its bony slender finger at the young male. "It's kind of scaring me."
"That one too..." The first one noted, pointing to Y/n.
"So these are the fabled premium grade products?" The third wondered aloud.
"Shhh." The woman hushed. The guards instantly focused forward and fell silent. The woman held her wrinkly hand out to the two children. Y/n and Ray pivoted in caution and defense. "It's a pleasure to meet you 18194 and 81194. Let me lead you to a path of glory and status." When Y/n and Ray did not move, Grandma Sarah retracted her hands and scowled. "Isabella."
"Yes, ma'am." Isabella replied firmly. She gave the children a strong yet gentle push on the two's backs. Grandma Sarah moved out of the way and instantly grabbed the two's hands and ripped them apart from each other. The two desperately reached for each other's hands once more. The two looked back to see Isabella with a sad smile, waving. The three guards were facing the children, following after them.
They walked into a white elevator, the doors closing, breaking their connection to Grace Field House Plant 3. Their connection to their siblings. Their connection to their mother. The only sounds present were the whirring of the descent of the elevator. It was not hot, but the two were cold sweating.
While they walked down several bare hallways, they had passed many older women, presumably sisters. Everyone they had passed stared them down intimidatingly. Their eyes were especially drawn to Ray, the first male they had seen in quite awhile. Ray seemed cautious to the stares.
They had arrived in front of two doors. The guards opened the door and the two assumed their place, walking inside and facing them. Grandma Sarah and the guards towered over them, the light from behind them casting a threatening shadow over the front of them.
"You two will be staying here for the rest of your life." Grandma Sarah began. "He will be learning different life skills from you. However, academically, you will be in the same class. Fail to reach the expectations, and... I don't believe I must explain myself further. New schedules will be daily put onto the wall." She then turned away and began walking away. The monsters closed the door and seemingly locked it, judging by the click sound.
Ray smirked. "Guess they don't trust us yet, huh?"
Y/n glared at him. "How on earth are you able to joke like that right now?"
Ray held his hands up and raised his brows. "Got to find a laugh in a situation such as this, don't we? Don't want to plummet into negativity at a time like this. We'll have lost before we even started."
Y/n sighed. "Yeah, you're right..."
Ray put a hand on her shoulder and squeezed it a little. He then walked over to the wall. He put his finger under the slip of paper taped onto the wall. Y/n could hear the cringe in his voice. "This is tight. I bet this tight schedule is something that causes at least half the candidates to fail."
Y/n came over to the wall beside him. Her jaw nearly dropped upon reading the arrangement of things. There was not much time to spare for extra studying of the sort.
In this kind of world, asking for help from someone would be something equivalent to potential suicide. They could feed you incorrect information, which would kill you. Since there are two brains for us, I predict the expectations for superiority will be high. We'll have to work hard.
