"Hey!" Hira cried, struggling from his seemingly super-glued grip. It was like being pulled by a heavy iron anchor. "Let me go, will you?!" she tried again, this time louder when that'd reached the parking lot.
A random couple which was walking past in front of them stared back at them in horror and unease.
"She's my girlfriend. We had a fight," he answered their possible inner thoughts.
To her horror, it had worked.
At last he had let go of her wrist, which she massaged with her fingers defensively. She was glowering at him. "What's this about?" she demanded. "You could've just asked me instead of dragging me out like that."
"Do you want to get in?" He held open the door to his black limo. It was a rhetorical question really, because he was already ushering her inside before him.
"Oi – what – why, you little – ow, my foot!" she was muttering, while trying to get in the limousine without hurting her already sprained ankle. She had accidently twisted it in the morning while running to get to work, that was late for anyway.
"Just get in," he said impatiently.
She slid over to the other side of the seat to sit beside the tinted window, away from him as possible. She didn't like him one bit. "Wow, someone's upset today," she said under her breath, and watching him settling himself on the other side. The limousine came alive just after he had slammed the door shut, but the vehicle didn't move just yet.
"Driver," he said, signalling for the driver to drive onward.
"Wait, we can't just leave," she said worriedly. "You don't know my manager, she'll have my head-"
"For your information," he cut in, deliberately looking straight ahead, "We know Mrs. K. Jefferson perfectly well to let you off for a couple of days. We do business occasionally to order catering now and again."
"But ... she doesn't have a catering b-"
"Her sister does." He looked out the window, ignoring her completely for the rest of the ride.
"Hadn't known she had a sister ... oh, well," she shrugged. She sighed quietly, feeling uncomfortable. Looking to her left, she pressed down on the button that would open the dark window on her side. She caught him glancing at her for a second from within her peripheral vision and smiled, loosening up and relaxing in her white leather seat. "By the way," she turned to him, after shutting the window. "Where in the world are you taking me?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"Shopping Centre," he answered looking back at her.
"What?" she asked, "Why?"
No reply. He only looked back outside the window and poked in a pair of earphones in his ears.
"Listen to me, why are we going shopping for me?" she tried again, poking his arm cautiously. "So childish!" Why do I get the feeling that there's more to what he's letting on, right now? she thought to herself.
She tutted to herself and watched him cautiously out of the corner of her eye.
The limousine slowed turned while going round a small, roundabout, and gradually picked a parking space in the busy shopping centre.
"C'mon," he said, letting himself out. "Out."
"Yes, Master," she mocked under her breath. Sighing inwardly, she also climbed out and closed the door behind her. She saw that he had on his dark sun-glasses now, but there was still no sun out and it was still raining ever so lightly.
