AU where Kara lost her sight in a battle against the Sleeper and has to learn how to navigate a sighted world without sight. I am not a blind person nor do I have eye issues, so I apologize for any inaccuracies!

Also this isn't my best because I'm writing this after a little less than 7 hours of sleep and being awake for a solid 15, nearly 16 hours.

It happened in a split second. Kara was fighting, then she was screaming on the ground, arm over her eyes.

It took days for her to wake up after that. In and out of sleep, she kept reliving the blows in a silent nightmare. But slowly enough, she was able to heal. Mostly. She lost her sight. All that was visible now was... shadows and light, with hints of color. She found it ironic that those were the only thing she could see properly now. Daughter of the Sun God, only being able to see light and colors? It seemed fitting.

At first, her friends and family helped her. Aru would take her hand and guide her around hard-to-navigate areas, Aiden would describe details she couldn't see, and so on. But she knew they wouldn't be there to help her all the time. She had to learn another way to navigate the world.

At first, she used regular provisions. A white cane, touch, sound, whatever else she could use. What she didn't use, however, was her powers. 'Surely it won't work!' She thought. Why would it? She couldn't use light to see, could she?

One fateful day, she accidentally shot a light beam while grappling for a spoon. In her mind's eye she could feel her surroundings with astounding clarity. It wasn't quite seeing, but she could feel distances and directions and sizes and shapes. Everything she needed, she could feel.

Maybe... just maybe, using her powers was a good idea. And maybe, just maybe, she could figure this out. One careful step at a time.
