It takes another two days of riding to reach Rancorn forest. The path Merlin and I have been following grows brighter as we enter the trees slowly, something about the forest feels odd to say the least. Like we shouldn't be there. I nudge Kaili closer to Leon brushing my knee against his, Merlin turns in his saddle slightly "Do you feel it too?" I nod shivering slightly "Yea. Keep your eyes out for trouble."

We all dismount as the trees grow thicker and closer together. Having to stop all together when the gaps grow too small for the horses. Arthur sighs "Elyan, Mordred, Gwaine Stay here with the horses," the three of them nod "Mordred you can contact Merlin and Y/N can't you?" he nods "Alright if we need help one of them will signal. Lets go."

Drawing swords we head into the gloom of the trees the path burning brighter than ever leading us to a large lake a waterfall falling into its depths. I frown "The path disappears behind the waterfall." Lancelot grins "Lets go then." Arthur throws an arm stopping him "Wait something doesn't feel right." Merlin's eyes flash gold several traps revealing themselves, nets springing up from the ground. He turns grinning "After you." Merlin and Lancelot lead with Leon and me bringing up the rear.

Ducking behind the waterfall we discover a cave entrance leading deep into the rock face. Merlin and I help light torches as we walk into the dark along a winding pathway that leads to an open room torches lining the walls. Inside is warm and dry with the remaints of a fire in the middle blankets and various signs of life dotted about but no people. On a raised plynth at the far end of the room a white horn rests runes carved into the ivory, it appears to be glowing faintly "Well, well, well. I was wondering who would come seeking the horn. Knights, the king and princess, my, my, my whoever it summoned must have been mightely important."

We all swivel finding a young man with a tangled mess of black hair standing in the entrance a sword held loosely in one hand and a sack in the other. He grins bowing "An honour your majesty." Arthur moves to my side "Who are you?"
"Oh where are my manners. Jonathan Larson at your service." he bows again Arthur smiles slightly "It would seem you already know who we are. How did you come by the horn?"

Jonathan shrugs slightly "I am but a humble traveler. Bought the horn of an old lady few days ago. New it was important, thought I would return it to the mages. It was already glowing when I bought it, was wondering who the lady had been summoning. Who was it?" Arthur frowns slightly "You didn't use it?" he shakes his head propping his sword against the cave wall "No. Ain't got a drop of magic in my blood." I tilt my head slightly confused "Then why where you headed to the mages?" he grins "Figured they would know what to do with it."
"And you were just going to hand it over?" he shrugs
"Suppose so. Hoped they might let me stay a while."

I send out a tendril of magic smiling faintly at what I find "I don't think you're telling the truth Mr Larson." I allow my eyes to flash gold his flashing in response "Can never be to carful highness. The royals are not known for kindness towards magic." Arthur frowns "I am not my father." he shakes his head "I can see that, sit I will tell you what I know."
