HE'S DEAD

It was almost a shock to the world, especially the Magisterium.

It came as a surprise to Sophia and Jack.

A. Sheuay and LightningSpeed too.

It was a surprise to everyone who knew him.

No one expected this, especially on a new year. A year he could've changed the world for the better and made the Magisterium and MEI better.

The first person who heard of the news, besides those in the house with John, was Monika, then she informed Sayori, who informed Yuri, who informed Natsuki, who informed Sophia, who had already heard, who then informed the Magisterium. From there the Magisterium spread the word to the old puppeteers, and A. Sheuay informed LightingSpeed.

The word spread like wildfire, and soon enough, many people heard of the news.

If it was that significant, it could've made headlines in the city.

But it was one man that not many people cared about.

The MEI was to reopen in 2 days, and literally 2 seconds ago, he was fine.

But now, he was less than fine.

The blood on his hands became real.

The blood that was drowning him was real.

The pain was no longer a figment of his imagination.

It was now clear as day. Everything was now clear.

The blood was no longer fictional.

It was really on his hands.

And it felt less like the blood of everyone he's wronged and felt more like his own.

Jack and Sophia rushed him to a hospital, but as it turned out, he had already lost too much blood, and the doctor pronounced him dead at 12:10. Unfortunately, it meant that he wasn't seeing another year.

The year he would've spent changing himself and improving himself for the Magisterium and the MEI was now at a loss. It was no longer anything. He can't fix anything if he wasn't alive, and if he couldn't fix himself.

It was a shock to Monika especially.

This was her fault, wasn't it?

But unlike him, she knew she could do better. She felt like she'd gaslighted him. She knew the method she had used was never worth it, and now, she was experiencing the consequences of her actions. So, her New Year's Resolution was to be a better CEO to everyone. Not just to her employees, but to her CFO, Head Chairman, and everyone. She was going to be a better person this year.

Sophia and Jack sobbed profusely at the foot of his hospital bed, question what they had done wrong...

They spent some time there, until the hospital kicked them out, as visiting hours closed. Sophia was permitted to say, since she was family to one who was dead, but Jack was forced to go home.

He found a note at the foot of his bloody bed.

Dearest the first person to read this,

Please be Jack, because I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for everything. I'm sorry for being a burden, I'm sorry for ruining your life, I'm sorry for making you the head of a Documentary Department, something I know you didn't want to be.

I did one good thing for you.

I saved you from the WattPad Project, that was it.

I never meant to make your life miserable.

I just wanted you to be happy. I just wanted you to be happy. I just wanted you to be happy. I just wanted you to be happy. I just wanted you to be happy. I just wanted you to be happy.

I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry

If you aren't Jack, please give this to Jack.

-Love you, bro.

Dr. Professor John Aardvark

As Jack read this, tears dripped down his face, hitting the paper thar was now bloodied at the bottom corner. He began to realize that he was a broken man.

And boy, did he feel bad.

He remembered the argument they had in the Magisterium, when John was drunk.

He thought that the change would happen this year, but clearly, it won't ever be happening in any year, since he's no longer alive to experience it.

It was Jack's turn to be the Lord, it's what John would've wanted.

It would've been his dying wish had he made one.

Jack knew that he would've wanted that.

And he wouldn't've wanted his death chapter to be any longer than that.

Nor would he want the Magisterium's story to continue past this point.

So, it won't.
