"You forgot to leave." I groan turning round in my bed to see Ransom propped up on a pillow.
His mouth corners into a little smile, "Merry Christmas."
He stretches out on the bed sliding down under the covers his mouth meeting mine softly.
"Shit...its Christmas." I pull away.
My heart is heavy as the memories of last night flood in. My jaw aches where the back of dads hand crashed against it, I massage it gently trying to ease the pain when Ransom grabs my chin turning my head round. His nostrils flare inhaling deeply a guttural growl builds inside his chest.
"Its not worth it Rans honestly. Let it go. I'm leaving the day after tomorrow..." I feel myself start to well up, "and I wont be back."
His gaze whips to meet mine, "never coming back huh?" Taking his finger he traces the contour of my cupids bow, he squeezes my face between his cupped hands pressing his lips on mine, lingering for a moment before he slips his tongue inside.
I melt giving into him biting his bottom lip gently, he moans devilishly in my mouth hooking my legs over his hip. I can feel his stiff cock bulge through his boxer short I press my pelvis against him, yearning for him to fill me.
"Fuck!" He sighs lifting his vibrating cell phone from the table, and placing it to his ear.
"What?" He growls.
I take the opportunity to slide down underneath the sheets, freeing his cock and wrapping my lips around the tip, flicking the head with my tongue.
"...uh...yeah Harlan...uhm no I uh...I went for a run really EARLY..."he shouts in pleasure as I thrust his pulsing cock deep into my throat, "I'll be there...I'll get a shower at the GYM...mine is open on Christmas...FUCK! No...not you...I went over on my ankle...I gotta go." He hangs up the cell abruptly and grabs hold of my hair.
"Sit on it." He moans loudly.
I work faster, sucking and licking his entire shaft, feeling the fire building inside my cunt.
He bucks his hips thrusting himself into my throat deeper, I grip my mouth hard onto him sucking with force, "Eva. Fuck." His legs quiver as he tries to lift my head off him, but I push myself deeper is milky load expelling down my throat.
"You can thank me later." I get out of bed and head towards the bathroom leaving Ransom wide eyed and panting on the bed, running his hands through his hair in exhilaration.
"What're you going to do today?" Ransom kisses my wet forehead as he steps into the shower beside me, he reaches for the soap and lathers himself up.
I can't take my eyes off him, remembering the first few encounters we had, and how much he has changed. How much I have changed.
"Eva?" He leans down matching my eye level, "whats your plans."
"Oh...um...I'll stay here watch a movie. I don't plan on going downstairs at all..." my lip trembles in disappointment. I always loved the idea of Christmas, I relished in hearing about other families traditions.
We have never done anything remotely special, dad would give me my gifts that were signed by his secretary, we'd have breakfast, watch TV and then we'd have Chinese food for dinner, he'd get drunk and cry about mom leaving and I would go to bed.
I feel the stings in the corner of my eyes as the painful memories take hold. Are they painful? Or are they just there. A constant reminder of the failure I am as a daughter. The piss poor excuse of a nuclear family we could have been.
Poor little rich girl hiding her tears from the intimidating rich boy from next door.
I turn away so Ransom doesn't see me cry again.
"Thats settled then...you're coming with me." He clears his throat.
Who is this man standing before me?
Where is the boy who used to treat me like a sex object.
"With you where Ransom?" I run my face under the stream of water washing away the sadness that pained my eyes.
He turns off the water and hands me a towel from the rail, "To Harlans. He's having a party, my parents will be there...so I need someone on my side. Will you be on my side?" He kisses and nibbles the sweet spot on my neck, my eyes rolling in the back of my head he knows I can't say no when he does this.

I stare at myself in the mirror, my black sequin shift dress skimming nicely over my body, my feet slid into a pair of black suede court heels, which I already regret wearing.
My long brown hair bounces around my face, which has been painted and repainted about 12 times since I decided to go with Ransom.
As I glide a deep 'biker bitch' red onto my lips I look at Ransom in the mirror as he fixes his hair, imagining if this is what it would be like if we were actually together, getting ready for family gatherings admiring one another.
My mind drifting to a 'what if?' state.
What if this was our apartment, what if we were 't raised by toxic parents. What if, we were happy.
I suppress the thought quickly.
This'll all be over by tomorrow.
I give myself a final once over, Ransoms slides in next to me wrapping his arm around my waist, smiling lovingly at our reflection.
Who is she?
I've never seen her before.
"You go out the window, I'll go downstairs and out the front door." Grabbing my bag off the side table I head out my room door, "shit!" I run back for the little bag of gifts I stashed in my wardrobe.
Ransom stands in the middle of the room faffing with his belt, "everything okay?" His head hangs.
"Yeah...aren't you gonna go?"
He sighs, "I was waiting to see if everything was okay with your dad...I wanted to be here in case y'know."
I run over to him, "go...its 2:15! I'll meet you there in 10 minutes." Pecking him on the cheek.
There was no sign of dad, I think he is sleeping in the lounge. I place his gift on the credenza by the front door, his red prada tie and a bottle of aged malt whiskey. What do you buy someone you barely know?
I turn on the lamp before I leave, hating the idea of him waking from his drunken slumber in darkness.
He's still my dad after all.

"Come in Miss Miller!" Fran, Harlans house keeper yells loudly, "thank god you're here, go save Hugh...he's been getting a hard time sweetie." Whispering in my ear as she takes my coat.
Ransom storms out of the lounge his face blushing, "hey! Merry Christmas." He leans in hugging me awkwardly.
Harlan rushes out after him swinging his cane, "Eva Miller! Thank you for keeping your promise, hows your father?" He winks at me, kissing both my cheeks, "you remember my daughter Linda, Ransoms mother."
"Oh sure, its lovely to meet you again." I fall into a half curtsy.
Why the fuck did I do that?
Can I die now?
A tall sophisticated woman stands just behind Harlan, "Oh look...its 'the gym'..." she scowls.
"Fuck off Linda!" Ransom yells, "don't be rude to my g...I mean Grandads guest."
She raises an eyebrow and takes a long drag from her cigarette.
"Come meet the rest of the family Eva." Harlan links my arm, "you look wonderful dear."
I offer a simpering smile, blushing as I am introduced around the family.
Fran shoves a glass of champagne into my hand, "theres plenty more where that came from."
I nod thankfully taking a huge gulp, Ransom tops it up instantly.
"Hows the uh...ankle son?" Ransoms father Richard asks sarcastically, throwing a raised eyebrow in my direction.
"Fine." Ransom snaps, throwing back his drink.
Ransoms cousin Meg stands in front of me, her eyes sizing me up, shes around the same age maybe a little younger.
"So you guys fucking or what?"
Harlan gasps, "Megan Thrombey!"
"Oh we're all thinking it, why else would she be here?" She inhales her e-cigarette blowing the vapour in my face.
"She is here because I asked her as my guest," Harlan slams down his cane and the room falls silent, "Now, I wont have any more comments y'hear? You will all make Eva feel welcome. Ransom...fill her out a drink...she looks like she could use it."
He wasn't wrong.
