Chapter 24

Closing date

"Hey Y/N... wake up... wake up sleepy head."

I wake up to a soft voice calling my name. A hand strokes the side of my cheek and brushes my hair out of my face.

Michael is staring down at me with a sincere smile which makes me smile back.

"Morning. What time is it?" I ask.

"It's 10:36. The doctor said you are free to leave. I was just waiting for you to wake up." Michael tells me, taking my hand in his.

"Well I'm up now. Let's get going." I smile, stepping out of bed.

However, my legs aren't used to walking so they give in at the knees. I almost loose balance but Michael notices this, catching me just in time.

"Steady on Y/N. Here, I've got you."

At his words, a plethora of butterflies dance around in my chest. His words tugging at my heart strings.

Why does he do this to me?

We walk out of the hospital after I check out and Michael leads me towards his car. He opens the door for me and smiles.

"Thanks."

He gives me a small nod and closes the door, getting into the drivers seat.

We both sit in the comfortable silence, watching the road ahead of us. Originally, I thought Michael would drive us back to his house or even mine.

But instead, we pull up in the car park outside of a now closed Freddy Fazbears Pizzaria.

"Michael, why are we here?" I ask as he turns the cars engine off.

"I left some things here. I need to bring them with me before everything in here gets scrapped."

We walk up to the side door, pushing on it so it opens.

As we do so, I notice something out of the corner of my eye. A shadow. The shadow is moving slightly but it looks to be human.

"Y/N? Are you alright? What did you see?" Michael asks, pulling my attention away from the shadow.

"I thought I saw-"

When I look back, the shadow is no longer there.

"What? What did you see?"

"Nevermind. It's nothing. I think I'm just tired that's all." I give him a tight lipped smile, walking into the restaurant after him.

Our footsteps echo through the halls as we make our way to the security office. Michael is holding out a torch in front of him which is the only light source we have.

"What did you come here for?" I ask, walking in beside him.

Michael reaches out his hand, picking up a photo on the desk.

The framed photo of the both of us.

I feel my cheeks heat up and I look over at him. He refuses to look back at me but I can quite clearly see the redness on his cheeks too.

He quickly picks up a few more framed photos of him and his family before checking around the rest of the office.

"I think that's everything." He says and we begin to head out.

"Wait!" I exclaim, stopping for a moment.

"What is it Y/N?" Michael asks.

I look across the corridor towards the locked storage room. The room where we left William.

"Should we...?"

Michaek shakes his head, looking away from the door.

"He's gone. Now come on, we have to leave." He pays no attention to the storage room, walking right past it as if he didn't hear his father die inside there.

I follow after him as we continue towards his car.

I look at the front of the restaurant. The front doors boarded up with planks of wood and the usually bright sign on the front is dull.

So many bad memories are held with this place. I think it's time we say goodbye.

"You coming?" Michael asks as he leans on the side of his car.

I nod my head, sitting in the passenger seat beside him.

I want to talk. I want to tell him how much I actually like him. I want to tell him about everything.

"Y/N? You don't have to be home at a certain time do you?" Michael asks like he would when we were both younger.

"No. Why?" I ask but Michael just shakes his head, seeming a bit nervous.

"Just asking. I wanna go somewhere." He says.

He begins to drive away from the restaurant and towards the outside of town. He takes a road I have never been on and we soon find ourselves driving to the top of a hill overlooking all the buildings.

When he stops the car, we both get out and feel the cool breeze.

Michael sits on top of his car and gestures for me to do the same as we look at the sunset which paints the sky with pretty colours.

"Y/N... can I ask you something?" Michael asks but looks like he instantly regrets it.

"You just did." I reply, laughing at my own comment.

Michael laughs along with me but tries to get me to stop.

"Oh come on! I'm being serious!"

"Okay I'm sorry. What is it?" I ask, waiting for a reply.

Michael looks out to the landscape in front of us once again and takes a deep breath.

"Let's say... if I- uh... if I asked you on a date, would you say yes?" He asks, now looking at me.

My heart stops.

"Wait, really?" I ask.

He nods, looking down slightly. He's probably afraid I'll reject him. But how could I reject him?

"Yes! I mean... yes. Sorry." I rub the back of my neck in embarrassment after replying too quickly.

"Okay. It's a date."
