Felix POV
Miss Dupain has just informed me it is NOT normal for your relatives to speak to you like that. Interesting. I cough to try and change the subject because I see no more reason to dwell on this topic. "..." I cant think of anything to say. Oh! "May I see your scrape?" I question.
"Felix, don't change the subject. This is concerning. I get I'm over stepping my boundaries right now and I truly am sorry for that, but families should respect each other. What your uncle is doing is not okay" She retorts.
I move my head slightly to look at her eye to eye. "You wanna know what's even more concerning?" I say. I place my hand on hers, and the blazer falls on my head and slightly on my arm. "YOUR INJURY." I state while bringing her arm closer to me.
Adrien POV
;-;
Where......Where did she go-
Did she get lost? Should I call her? Does the teacher know? Should I call the teacher??
Marinette POV
..... FELIX YOU GARBGE CAN
For some reason when he touched my hand I got kinda flustered- UGH. ITS ALL BECAUSE HE LOOKS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE MY CRUSH.
"How did you manage to get not one, but two scrapes. And they are not very pleasant to see." He looks at me like a parent scolding a child. Suddenly, I feel like I'm back at home. "I only went to wait at the bathroom because-" I remember why. It seems Felix does too, his face is brushed with red, and we both face different directions. Felix's legs are now against his chest with him arms resting on top.
The awkward silence is so loud that it hurts, I have to say something. "Do.. *cough*... Do you think they are almost here..?" "Hm? Oh..." He looks around. Slowly his eyes move. They lock onto one spot then, his hands start to tremble.
Felix POV
I..I cant breathe.
I gasp for air and try to bring my head down to look away but I cannot move. I try to calm my body, but I can't. I'm shaking. I can hear myself trying to breath, coughing, gasping.
Marinette POV
First I hear gasping and coughing. It sounds like he is drowning. I move to be in front of him, bent on my knees. I don't know what is happening, and most especially what to do!
I look at him, but he can't look away from one spot in the alley way. I turn to look there too, but I see nothing. Its just the brick wall, and cement. "Felix- What's happening?" He doesn't respond.
Before I assume anything, I look at him. His face is slightly pale, he looks sick.
Just then it clicks. Whatever is happening is not a normal panic attack. It doesn't sound like something spontaneous. It has to be something that was built up. He can't look away? It sounds like..... I'm no expert, but it sounds like trauma. That is the only way to explain his trembling and chocking.
"Felix." I grab his hands gently in effort to comfort him.
Felix POV
Marinette grabs my hand. I can feel the warmth. "Felix? You can hear me right? Ok. I need you to try and close your eyes ok?" I try to but I can't. She lets out an understanding sounding sigh.
"Ok... Lets try working on your breathing first, its okay if its choppy. Whatever's bothering you, it's not there. Its just cement and bricks. You're safe. I am with you, there is nothing else. Just the rain, and the cat." she chuckles at the last part. "You gotta trust me ok?"
I listen to the rain, replaying what she said. Trust her. Nothing is there. Its only me, her, and a cat. She .... She wouldn't lie. Trust her. She's different. She's a friend, not a fake. right?
The calming sounds of raindrops is the only thing I can hear now. My throat loosens then I slowly, finally, take a very choppy breath in through my mouth, and release it like there is a candle in front of me that I'm not trying to blow out.
I'm not facing her, but I can feel Marinette smiling. "See? Nothing to worry about, you're doing great." As I inhale a broken breathe of air, with my head still shaky and my hands as well, I feel her hand let go of one of mine. The warmth is now on my face, her fingers lightly turn my head to face her.
"Felix, look at me."
" Focus here! Look at me. And focus on the warmth of my hands." My head turned to her, but my eyes are still there. "Felix, you're ok. Look at me please." Tenderness is laced in her voice.
I try. And... They move. My eyes roughly start to move.
Then I lock eyes with her. A smile on her face. She looks content.
No One POV
After 30 seconds Marinette's smile starts to fade. Now she looks, not unhappy, but serious. Her soft gaze has turned into a different one. Her eyebrows lower from smiling and it looks like she realized something.
