I was a well-known politician — and secretly married to a Jedi: Anakin Skywalker. No one knew. Not even my oldest friends. Now, I was on a secret "mission" to spy on one of those friends — Rush Clovis. Alongside me, as my silent protector, was my husband. At the moment, though, I was alone with Clovis in the living room of mine and Anakin's shared apartment. Anakin had gone to meet Obi-Wan, leaving me to handle Clovis for now.//edited once//

"It feels like it's been ages since we last talked like this," Clovis said in a low voice, a nostalgic smile playing on his lips.
"Must have been at least seven years," I replied, forcing a light tone, pretending I enjoyed the long gap of not seeing him.
"We were so close, Y/N... I'd really like to return to that... maybe even closer," he whispered, leaning in towards my face. I quickly backed away, pretending I just needed to grab my drink sitting on the table in front of us.
He acted as if nothing had happened, smiling casually.
A few minutes later, we found ourselves standing in front of the massive glass windows of mine and Anakin's apartment, the night skyline of Coruscant sprawling endlessly before us.
"The view is truly amazing," Clovis said, his eyes not on the city but entirely on me. I cringed internally, doing everything I could to maintain a neutral expression.
Without warning, he turned me to face him and leaned in again, trying to kiss me. I shoved against him, but his grip was too tight around my arms.
"No. Please stop, Clovis," I said firmly, but he didn't listen.
Thankfully, at that exact moment, Anakin walked through the door, his eyes instantly locking on Clovis, his entire presence brimming with restrained fury.
"If a woman asks you to stop, you should do exactly that," Anakin said, voice dangerously calm.
"That's none of your business, Jedi," Clovis spat, his tone sharp and annoyed.
Anakin moved closer, positioning himself between Clovis and me, gently but firmly pushing me behind him.
"Anak— General Skywalker, it's okay. I'll handle it myself," I said quickly, grabbing his arm to catch his attention before he lost control.
"Whatever you prefer, Senator Y/L/N," he said, still glaring daggers at Clovis. "But could I have a word with you? Alone."
"Of course. Follow me," I said, leading him into a side room, away from Clovis' prying eyes.
Once alone, Anakin's frustration spilled out. "I don't like how he treats you, and you won't even let me do something about it."
"I know, Ani... but I need to handle it myself. Please, at least let me try," I said, giving him a look I knew he couldn't resist.
"You know I hate it when you look at me like that," he said, a small smile cracking through his anger. "Fine. But only because it's you."
He pressed a soft kiss to my forehead before I slipped back into the living room, leaving him behind for now.
"It's because of the Jedi," Clovis said as soon as I reappeared, his voice accusing.
"What do you mean?" I asked, feigning confusion.
"You don't want to be with me because of him."
"An— General Skywalker? No. We're just... good friends," I said, trying not to sound suspicious, even though my heart raced.
