(Just a note: most of the planets and royal families mentioned in this story are creations from my own imagination, so don't be surprised if you haven't heard of them before.)

You were the Princess of a powerful and politically vital planet called Nuumoth. It wasn't famous in the eyes of the common people—but in the world of senators, nobles, and warlords, its name held weight. Your father, King Lakun, reminded you constantly: Power only matters when others want it. You were part of that power. Or rather, you were that power. A daughter meant to be married off to strengthen his hold over the galaxy. And then, the threats began. They came quietly at first—letters, encrypted messages, strange figures in the shadows. Then, bounty hunters. One nearly found you in the gardens. Another tried to intercept your transport. You stopped sleeping soundly after that. So your father took action—not out of love, but strategy. He requested a Jedi protector. And not just any Jedi. Anakin Skywalker. You didn't expect him. You didn't expect the way he looked at you—like you weren't just a pawn, or a name, or a marriage contract. You didn't expect the quiet talks, the accidental touches, the growing warmth between you. What began as duty became friendship. What began as friendship became something dangerous. Forbidden. Real. It's been nearly a year since he arrived. A year since your life changed. A year of secret love in the middle of a gilded prison. And nothing—not your father, not tradition, not even the Jedi Code—can stop what's coming next.

I was sitting in the grand dining room of our palace on Nuumoth. The massive table stretched endlessly, making the space feel even more detached and distant. My mother sat at the far end on the right side, regal and composed. Opposite her, at the very left end, was my father—King Lakun—commanding the room with nothing more than his presence.

Beside me, unfortunately, sat Ryansan—Ryan, the arrogant prince of Fekorom—one of the suitors my father had chosen for me. I couldn't care less about him. In fact, I could barely tolerate his existence. Around the table were his parents, other royals, and a handful of politicians—most of whom I ignored completely.

My mind was somewhere else entirely. Or rather, with someone else.

Anakin Skywalker.

My secret fiancé. My forbidden love. A Jedi. The very reason my heart still dared to beat beneath the weight of duty and tradition.

We had tried to stay away from each other—knowing full well that we could never be "normal." That our love was something the galaxy would never accept. But resisting each other had become impossible. And now, here we were—at opposite sides of a table, trying to steal glances without drawing attention.

I caught him looking at me just as I dared to look at him. Our eyes locked for a brief, electric moment—until someone sitting beside him said something, forcing him to look away. I smiled softly, filled with quiet joy and a fragile sense of gratitude. Even in secret, even in silence—he was mine. And I was his.

But of course, my smile didn't go unnoticed.

"What are you smiling at, my dear?" Ryan asked with that smug tone he used whenever he assumed something revolved around him.

I turned to him with a sarcastic smile. "Because of you, my dear. What else could it possibly be?" My voice dripped with mockery. The Princess of Selac and her brother laughed under their breath. Ryan, however, didn't find it so funny. He gave me a look—a cold, warning stare that promised there would be consequences. I didn't care.
