Hey everybody,
Sorry I haven't been quite active recently. Apparently a "break" doesn't mean no work. I've been quite busy visiting colleges, visiting friends, on top of trying to make use of my time to relax, evidently not very well.
I've been making progress on the latter part of WOH:DD, and I'm working on the final battle scene, but I've still got quite a problem: Chapter 33 is LONG. As in, 16,000 words (so far) "I'd need to remember my place in the chapter" long, and I'm not sure you can really do that in 抖阴社区. That's why I've been toying with splitting up the chapter into the adjacent chapters to try and limit the length.  But if you guys want a really long chapter to slog through, be my guest, but make sure to let me know so I don't sacrifice the flow of the story unnecessarily. That's my major concern with splitting the chapter: that it will disrupt the flow and make things even more confusing than they already are. But if you guys prefer a long chapter, let me know. It'll save a lot of time and effort on my end.
As for the fate of Chapter 33... I'm not entirely good at writing a climax that converts the antagonist into a friendly. I don't have a lot of experience or reference to really write that, so it is currently looking very clunky. I want to do the story Justice, and make sure as many loose ends are tied up as much as possible, but this is probably a little too far off of what I am capable of. Nonetheless, I will do my best to give it the respect that it deserves, and (hopefully) round out my second ever series that I have written. We will see, and I hope it was worth it.
Again, I am just juggling my time between schoolwork, college work, and day-to-day housework. Although, some time should be opening up, and I will definitely use it to make progress. Thanks you all for sticking with me through this brief hiatus, I'll be back on in no time. ... Until school and AP exams start.

Side note: I would just like to pay respects to a member of the family who passed away yesterday.
Emmet was a 17 year old German Shepard mix who was a valiant member of the *Jerez family. He was definitely very vocal, but such a happy-go-lucky dogo. He always had a way of making things interesting. When he visited and we had to care for him for a couple weeks, he jumped the fence and went gallivanting through the neighborhood before I managed to tackle him and get a leash on him. And even then, I wasn't sure who was walking who! He used to howl at every siren, and apparently left an impression on our own dogies. They escape often enough, and one of them howls now to get our attention. He was a big baby, and we loved him.
He's over the Rainbow Bridge now, but we still keep him in our hearts. Like I know he did for us.

Rest easy soldier.

Time to come home dear brother
Your tour of duty through
You've given as much as anyone
Could be expected to do

Just a few steps further
The smoke will start to clear
Others here will guide you
You have no need of fear

You have not failed your brothers
You clearly gave it all
And through your selfless actions
Others will hear the call

So take your place of honor
Among those who have gone before
And know you will be remembered
For now and evermore

You stood the watch for seventeen years now.
You stood the watch so that we, our families, could sleep soundly in safety, Each and every night
Knowing someone has always stood the watch

Today we are here to say
Packmate... the watch stands relieved
Relieved by those You have comforted, guided, and led. Your eternal watch is over at last. Go now and walk the streets of gold, rest easy in paradise. Hunger and pain no more.
Packmate you stand relieved.

Fair winds and following seas brother. We have the watch now.

Take care everyone,
-FishyFish831
