Izuku stirred slowly. The night before had been quite taxing, in all honesty... well, in all honesty, that was an understatement. Still, he could feel the cheap quilts on him, and the scent of sterilizing chemicals. Opening an eye, it was blurred vision for a second before he found himself in a hospital. Probably Hosu General. As his consciousness returned, his head throbbed, creating a bit of a headache. While the bed was... comfortable... he was looking up at the blinding light of the ones embedded into the ceiling, which didn't help his sensitive eyes. However, when he tried to shield his eyes, he found that they were chained to the sides of the bed. Looking down... he cursed to himself: "What... Are you kidding me?"
A nurse was reading the file next to him, jumping slightly when he spoke. She didn't notice his "Oh, uh... you're awake!"
Still groggy, he asked the fearful woman. "Where... are they alright? Is Stain captured?"She smiled, "Don't worry, the other students are in the room with you." She glanced at the handcuffs, but didn't say anything else. It wasn't her place, clearly.
But the vampire forced her hand. "Can you tell me who has the keys to these?" He held up his arms, at least as high as the handcuffs would allow.Uncomfortable... she replied, "Oh... um... I don't know. They were placed on you because... well... uh... no offence... you're a known serial killer."
He sighed, accepting that fact. "None taken... it's just... Why hasn't UA, no, Nezu, told everyone I'm a rehab student yet?! They said it throughout the school, why didn't they let the public know?!" Frankly, his rantings drove away the woman away, who slipped out of the room, and went to get others who might be better suited to this particular kid...
A familiar voice asked, tired and pained: "Midoriya?"
The ravenette turned to Iida, lying on a different bed. "Oh, hey. I'd wave, but..." He tugged on the chain, to which the blue haired boy's eyes widened. Shakily, Iida got up from the bed, and stumbled towards him, despite what injuries he had. He walked into his view, then bowed to half height. Unlike his usual over the top bows... this one was not rigid. He couldn't afford to be, but still wanted to show his apology nonetheless. "I apologize for getting you and Todoroki in danger. I put my own anger in the way of my rational thought. If there is anything I can do..."
Izuku thought for a moment, then said, "Kneel." Iida, confused, still obliged. Staying silent, he listened as his... well, weird classmate asked: "Do you promise to strive to be the best hero, the best person you can be?"
With a determined nod, and only slightly confused eyes... he promised: "Yes."
"Good." He raised his right leg and tapped Iida's shoulders with it. "Rise, you've been reinstated as a proper hero student. Do your best, oh knight of speed."Iida realized that he was just knighted by him, perhaps a joke surrounding his hero costume, but the gesture was enough to remind him of what he strived to be. Standing up, he nodded, a small smile of amusement mixed with bewilderment on his face: "I will."
He bared his teeth, showing his winning smile, something that still creeped the other boy out. "Good."
Todoroki spoke up this time, but with less emotion than Iida. They hadn't really known each other well, after all. "Midoriya, are you alright?"
Izuku gasped with mock shock, "You're actually... concerned for me?"
The reason he gave, however, was still hilarious... even compared to Iida's shock at the impropriety of it all. "You still need to teach me about dealing with Endeavour."
