The Fire Within (Five Hargreaves x reader)

 Y/n woke up lying on the floor. As she looked around realizing that she was no longer in the cabin but in a grass field. One that she recognized. She looked at the river that ran behind the land that started to form. It was the path behind the academy. The one she ran all the time when she was little. She stepped up to look over the edge of the river bed as she took a deep breathe. She closed her eyes again before opening them to find herself in a hospital room

Doctor: Here you go Mr. Jenkins, your baby boy.

Mr.Jenkins: Harold...

Doctor: and your baby girl.

Mr.Jenkins: Bree...

(before anything else can be said monitors start to go off as the women who just gave birth goes into anaphylactic shock and Mr.Jenkins is pushed out of the room. The world spins around her as she is transported to the hallway as she sees the man being told his wife died as the man breaks down with his babies still in his arms. The world began to spin around her again. As it started to take shape she saw a man ... her dad infront of Mr.Jenkins.)

Reginald: how much do you want for it?

(This was it. The day she got adopted. The world spins once again as the training room in the academy show. A little version of Y/n stands in front of her father)

Reginald: Now that you have you ice under control I want you to use your fire,

Young Y/n: (she just stood there not wanting to use her fire but knowing she need to. Her fire continued to grow in her hand as she placed it into the iron bowl that her father had put there as she tried to make is grow and shrink until it continued to grow without being under her control. Looking worried she quickly used her ice to stop the fire)

Reginald: NUMBER 8! You can't keep doing that!

Young Y/n: I'm sorry.

Reginald: Number 8, go to your room. 

(The next scene she saw was her in the medical room with a young Allison in front of her)

Reginald: Number 3, do it.

Allison: I'm sorry Y/n... I heard a rumor, you thought you only had fire powers

(The older Y/n stood in disbelief at the 2 young girls as she realized what her father made the 4 year old allison do. He was the reason that she hated her powers so much. She was the balance and he had taken that away from her. Once again the world spins around her as her mind spins to. All of a sudden memories come back to her. Memories of her ice. That was what was missing in her all these years. She felt complete again. The ice and flames balance within herself as she found herself back at the river bed.)

???: You shouldn't be here.

Y/n: (turns around) ... Dad?

Reginald: It's to early for you. You shouldn't be dead.

Y/n: Then why am I here?

Reginald: You got shot. Badly injured. But not dead yet. It's your decision and yours alone if you want to keep fighting or stay here

Y/n: (She stayed silent for a minute)

Reginald: I know you want to ask me something. Just say it.

Y/n: Why did you take away half of my powers?

Reginald: I will admit I made a mistake in that department but I must tell you now that you have more than just fire and ice. You also can control other forms of ice such as water and even water vapor. You would have been able to control anything with Oxygen and hydrogen in its chemical make up due to your abilities but you were supposed to learn that after you mastered fire and ice together. I was only trying to help you.

Y/n: So when I mastered Ice, Fire appeared, but I was to cautious with it.

Reginald: I made a mistake. Now you will have to relearn ice to unlock your full potential, but I have to admit I am proud of your ability with fire and how that evolved... I have to tell you something about my death.

Y/n: That you killed yourself to get the academy back together. 

Reginald: (looks shocked) How could ypu have known that?

Y/n: that's the kind of person you are. But how did you know about the apocalypse? 

Reginald: I can't tell you that yet... Your time here is almost up. You must decide. Stay here or live again. It's up to you and you alone. What do you want?

Y/n: I...I want to ...
