The one for me ? (Michael Afton x reader)

"Oh? Uh yea sure" I sit up, turning my phone off. I held it in between my hands. It burned across my skin. God, they keep upgrading these phones yet they still manage to overheat after an hours use or so. 

It felt very tense. I knew I didn't do anything wrong but you know-

"Thanks..look- i've been noticing that you've been kind of distracted" My mother shut the door and she sat on my bed.

"Distracted..? How so?" I raised my eyebrows.

"You've been on your phone often and instead maybe you should be studying" Mother tilted her head.

"Oh god- you know I have a life- I can't always study" I complained. 

"..Well yes, but you can't let it distract you. I don't want you on your phone as much anymore." She crosses her arms, giving me an annoyed expression. 

"I'm not 13 anymore! I know when to use-" I quickly answered back but got cut off.

"You might be older, but you're talking with others. You know what I'm talking about." My mother shot me a knowing look. My eyes widened.

Could she be talking about-

Michael?

I mean- I thought she forgot about him..or at least disregard the fact that he talks with me. How did she find out?

"I don't know what you're talking about" I cleared my throat.

"...Y/n- we're friends aren't we? and friends don't lie to each other" Mother smiled.

"sure" I replied blankly.

"Well..we used to be quite close with the Aftons. Actually your father was good friends with William. Until .. a certain event happened. I know that you're close with his son. When I saw the bandage I recognised the name immediately. Y/n that family is dangerous..trust me when I say that." My mother speaks in a clear tone. 

...

I sat there. 

"Well what happened? why are they sooo dangerous" I asked. My mother sighed and smiled weakly.

"Thats not important.. what matters most right now is for you to stop being close to the boy. I know you're good friends but I can't let you get hurt." My mother shook her head.

I sighed. Everything was happening all at once. First, the Aftons are.. 'dangerous'- and now I can't be friends with Michael?? I needed time alone, this was all too much for me. 

"I understand- i'll stop speaking with him.. " I nodded, giving her a reassured smile. My mother gave a relieved sigh and she took my hand.

"I knew you would come around. That's my daughter" She kisses my forehead and then leaves the room. I sit in disbelief. 

"What on earth just happened?" I exclaimed.

"How did she even know- why are they dangerous?- " I whispered to myself. I kept asking questions. I stopped thinking and decided to take action. Listening to mother is always good for you!! (haha!)

Well since.. I agreed to stop talking to Michael.. 

 I open my phone. I went through my contacts and clicked on Michaels name. I looked at his name one more time. "Sorry Mike.." I went to the info and-...

...

changed his name to Samantha.
