Vernon Chwe, a homicide detective that has seen many thing over the few years that he entered the field. Despite his young age, not many cases have had him shocked but this time...this case is personal.

You see, in a perfect world, you meet your soulmate who has the same mark as you and fall in love. You can meet this soulmate at any given moment and unfortunately for Vernon, he met you on your last day as you were the newest case. The second he saw your body, he felt different. As he took a closer look, he noticed that your palms were facing upwards and that's when he noticed the mark....a little heart on the palm, just like his.

Once they identified you, Vernon bolted out of the office and headed to the one person he felt could help him solve the case. You may be wondering who this person is? Well it's none other than his mad scientist friend, Wonwoo. He's not really "mad" but he refers himself that way.

When Vernon arrived at the Jeon Laboratory, he burst through the foor in a panic. Frazzled by the sudden noise, Wonwoo nearly dropped a beaker but caught it in time.

"Geez Chwe, if you're gonna storm in here at least make yourself known first." Wonwoo said, putting the beaker down.

"Yeah whatever, listen: I have a problem and I'm certain you can help me." Vernon replied. Wonwoo looked at him quizzically, wondering what he could mean.

"What makes you so sure that I'll be useful for your problem?"

"I need to use your time machine." He answered, glancing over at Wonwoo's latest invention. The scientist looked between Vernon and the machine wide eyed.

"Vernon are you crazy?! I haven't even tested it out yet."

"Then let me be your test subject." Wonwoo pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a sigh.

"You never volunteer yourself for experiments, how big is this issue of yours?" He asked, genuinely confused.

"Well you see, I met my soulmate the other day."

"I swear if this is because you didn't get their number..."

"I couldn't get a number because they're my newest homicide victim case." A somber silence filled the room.

"Vernon I'm so sorry. If I'm understanding this correctly, you want to use my time machine to go back in time before the killing?" Vernon firmly nodded.

"Exactly Jeon, now will you help me...please?" Wonwoo let out another sigh before agreeing.

"Alright Chwe, but I can't promise a perfect success rate."

"Anything is worth a shot at this point, I just want to stop this murder from happening." He said, determined to fix all of this. Wonwoo seeing the determination in his friend's eyes, goes over and fires up the machine.

"Okay, you might want to act fast because I don't know how long it'll hold up for." Vernon firmly nods before stepping inside.

"How many days do you want to go back?" Wonwoo asked him.

"Hmm, go back two days. It took two days to identify them."

"Good luck and be careful, okay?" Wonwoo said.

"Promise."

"Now go get your soulmate." Wonwoo said with a smile as he closed the machine door. Vernon felt a smile rise on his face which soon dropped as the machine shook around. He braced himself and a short moment later, the machine stopped moving.
