The day went by very fast. Orange latterns were lighting up the dark sky and the streets were very busy for the very special festival. Everyone was going to relax after all the news about kidnapping in the village and have fun.
But the demon slayers."Yushirō, what makes you think he'll come to a paint shop?" Toda asked. "Well, I figured that everyone will not be at home but at the festival so hes options are pretty limited. I put on all the lights and flipped the sign so it says 'Open.' and he'll have no choice but to come here." Yushirō said. "OK, but if he doesn"t come here than," she asked him. "Then you'll go to search for him." Yushirō said.
They all waited and waited. And by this time, it looked like he was NOT coming. "OK, it has been two hours. You'll have to search for-" all of a sudden there was a knock on the door. It must be him! Mai thought. Yushirō ran off into the back and it was just the demon and the demon slayers. Everyone was very scared.
"Remember what we've been over." Hoshiko said. Yumi held on to Hoshiko's arms as the two aproached the doors. Once they did, they saw him.
The man wore a black kimono. His hair was blue, green, brown and black. His eyes looked deadly and his one eye was covered, only revealing the other one. He looked very scruffy and dirty. "Hello, is it OK if I may rest for the night here?" He asked, showing pointy teeth. Yumi was gripping on to Hoshiko's arm so tightly that Hoshiko might die from lack of blood circulation.
"Y-y-yes." Yumi stuttered. It's not like we've never dealed with a demon before. But this guy is meant to kidnap us. Hayato thought.
"Thank you." He brushed passed them and into the shop. "Wow, is this your husband and three daughters?" He asked Hoshiko. "NO! Kyoto is my adopted son!" She said, plastering a smile. "Wait adopt-" but Mai stamped on Toda's foot before she could say anything. "Are all of them adopted?" He asked. Yumi and Hoshiko nodded slowly.
"Then where is your husband?" The demon asked. "Oh, um, funny story. I'm married to Yumi." Hoshiko said. He looked at Yumi.
"So you two are wife and wife?" The demon asked. They both nodded. "Oh, so my name is Soriko." The demon said. "I'm Hoshiko, this is my wife Yumi and these are our children: Kyoto, Toda and Mai." Hoshiko started.
Everyone waved at him."OK, so why aren't you at the festival enjoying yourself?" Mai asked. "Oh, I can't enjoy myself for very long. I have nothing, and you can't enjoy anything if you have nothing." He said looking at the floor.
Everyone knew he was guiltripping them.
"Well, feel free to make yourself at home." Yumi said. Soriko looked around. "You guys live in this paint shop?" He asked. "Yep, I guess so." Hayato said quickly. "But the rooms are in the back." Hoshiko said.
"Sure." He then turned to look at Mai, Toda and Hayato. "So, how old are they?" He asked as his eyes intesified. "Um, they're like, 12." Yumi lied.
Soriko started to rub his hands together. "Hmmm, I see." He smiled. The three got very uncomfortable with him looking at them like that.
"Yeah, so we're going to make some food." Hoshiko said. She felt it very difficult to move her arm because of Yumi, so Hoshiko held her hand. Their fingers intertwining. Yumi, for some reason, felt better and safer.
"Let's go." She smiled. As the two walked past Mai, Toda and Hayato, they whispered something to them. "It's most likely he's going to kidnap you'll while we're gone so let him do so. I wish you guys luck." Yumi smiled. The three nodded and Yumi and Hoshiko walked off.
They then turned to Soriko. "So, I'm just going to-" he then ran at them with all his strength and knocked them out with his fist. It was not like they could do anything.
Soriko looked around, made sure that their 'Parents' weren't around before he heaved them on to his back and ran off with them.
