??????? ?? ?????: The Next Generation. {BOOK 1/2.}

"What...where am I? Did I die...or am I dieing?" Toda muttered to herself as her eyelids slowly opened.

She looked around to see if anything could help her know where she is but she didn't have a clue. Thing was, words could not describe how she felt in that moment of time. Toda allowed her eyes to look around.

But her heart started to pound when she saw a crowd of people. They all were crowded around something that seemed like it was very important. They all had their backs to her so Toda quietly made her way there.

"What the fuck?" Toda questioned under her breath. There were parents and their baby in the middle of the room. They were praising their child like it was God or something.

Everyone was talking one on top of another. Toda could definitely tell that the people in the crowd did not like the baby. But there was something oddly familiar about the baby that Toda couldn't quite put her finger on.

Toda tried very hard to not get noticed by the crowd because they seemed like they knew each other very well and if they saw her they would definitely be asking her questions as to who she is and what she is doing here.

As Toda looked around at the crowd more. Some of them looked like demons! Her heart started to pound even harder now that she was in same crowd as demons.

If they see me, a human, I would get killed! Why did Matsuki put me in this situation? And by the looks of things, non of my friends are even here to help me out. Fuck Matsuki. But as long as I keep a low profile, I can easily get away with being a human.

Toda looked further around in the crowd and was shocked when she saw humans too. Including the baby's parents. How are these demons not killing the humans? What alternate universe did I go to where demons and humans live in prefect harmony?! Toda thought.

But then she remembered Takashi. His smile beamed on her like sunshine. Takashi...he's a half demon and he looks like a regular human boy. Maybe the rest of them are half demons. Toda thought.

Shit! That means I'm the only human here! Toda thought, panic rising in her again. But the parents started to talk again.

"How about we name her Taria?" The man suggested. "Taria it is then!" The baby's mother cheered. But then one of the people in the crowd said something that made the hair on Toda's neck rise. Her eyes widened and her heart pounded.
She want want run away.

"What about Toda?"

"Toda Momiji does have a good ring to it."

"Toda it is!"

Is that baby me? OK What the actual fuck is going on here? Who are these people? Why is that baby me and where am I? Also what happened to Matsuki and my friends? They have to be here somewhere...

Toda tried to peer over and scan the crowd but she didn't see anyone who looked like her friends. She did, however,  see someone whom she mistaken for Snow but it was just a crazy demon who wanted to burn baby Toda in the sun to see if she was half, full or not a demon.

What these people wanted to do with me is batshit crazy! Like who in their right mind puts a child in the sunlight to determine what they are? And would of I was a full demon? Then what?! Toda thought, getting enraged in her own thoughts.

But Toda closed her eyed and opened them again to look at her parents holding her. Toda's heart sank at the sight of her parents. She never knew what her parents looked like. She never heard their voices before or has even seen what they do. She never knew what they felt like.

Tears started to make Toda's vision blurry and she just stood there, not moving a muscle, as tears fell to the floor like a dripping tap. So these are my parents...my real parents...that's what they looked like. Wow... Toda thought as she couldn't pull herself to actually say those words.
