It was the day after the pole challenge. Vintage called everyone out to Infront of the cabins "Alrighty! Howdy again everyone. Today we've got another challenge for each team! But this time every member of each team must enter! Basically there are 3 pools each full of ice water! Last person in a team standing wins!" Cappy looked over at Bottle and Soapstone and gestured for them to follow him. He led them to the bushes besides the pools "This will be more complex. Here's the plan. Soapstone, we need you too immediately leave the pool. I will too. Bottle, I'll give you whatever you need to keep you in there alright? Soapstone. I need you to sabotage the other teams. Here." He handed her a bucket with a cap on it "This bucket contains liquid nitrogen." "WOAH WOAH WOAH." Bottle chimed in. Soapstone had never heard her talk and was surprised as her voice was much more... Elegant than she had thought it would be. "Cappy... This is like... More dangerous than normal! Are you sure this is a good idea?" Cappy smirked "Positive!" "How will we even do this!?" "Glad you asked! Listen close Soapstone, I may or may not have stolen Vintages challenge files so I was busy last night. There are 2 tunnels deep in the woods. I made a map. Just in case it doesn't work I'll need to stay with bottle to help her stay in the pool. Alright?" Soapstone knew this was probably awful. But at the same time she knew she wouldn't be able to get very far on her own. Plus Cappy didn't seem too awful. He was just in it to win...! Right...? "Yes sir." Cappy smiled "Good, keep this up and you might become a permanent member of Team Cappy." He smirked. "Now let's get back." As the went back Vintage was already showing the teams their pools. Cappy cleared his throat "Vintage. Me and Soapstone won't be able to participate in this challenge. I'm to short and would probably drown and Soapstone has something else she has to do. Could we just say we left the pool immediately?" Vintage looked over at them "I don't see why not! Alright! All teams into their pools!"
Team water:
Broom was having to hold Pillow to keep his face above water. Hypnosis Pendant had tied their string around a nearby root. Spork was absolutely freezing and trying to keep from shaking. Broom looked at them "Hey, if you want you can opt out. Me and the others can handle this!" Spork shook their head. "N... No way...! I'm not going to opt out of this like CB...!" CB huffed "I can't handle cold temperatures! My juice will freeze! I'm still offering to help in any ways possible!
Team fire:
Cookie was shaking from the cold with Chip sitting next to them. For the first time since they joined Chip smiled. "What's wrong-" they quickly checked Cookies bracelet "Xir. I thought you wanted to participate?" "In the last challenge! Not this one! This one is awful!" Cookie huffed. "At least the sad one had to join us this time." Cookie glanced over to see Lighter completely frozen in space "Sad one? You okay?" Lighter was silent "I... I can't move." Cookie chuckled "Maybe now you'll actually help us by continuing to do so!" Firefly Lantern was sitting to the side. The team agreed to let them sit this one out since if she went in their Firefly's would die and it was a hassle to replace them. Calligraphy Pen was in the corner shaking. FL looked at him. "Hey, you wanna sit this one out? Your ink could freeze." Calligraphy Pen stuttered "I... I... I'm N.... Not even... Co... Cold...!" FL sighed "Alright." Meanwhile Dorito was getting soggy and falling apart. Literally.
Soapstone:
Soapstone was walking through the forest. Soapstone was flinching at every little sound. Eventually she made it to the first small rubber tunnel "Alright... This one should be to team fire..." She thought for a moment "Let's... Do this..." After pouring the liquid nitrogen into the fire tube she walked over to the water tube and put the other half in there. "Let's go back..."
Team fire:
The team had started to get used to the cold when it amplified by a l o t. Cookie shot out of the water "GAH! WHAT IN THE HELL!?" Their bottom half immediately dissolved on the land "CHIP HELP I CAN'T WALK" Chip crawled out of the water "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?" All of team fire started climbing out of the water. All besides Lighter. Who still couldn't move. FL ran to try and help him out but Cookie stopped her "Wait! Let's leave them! Than we can win!" "But they HAVE to be in some pain!" "So!? We'll have to kick someone if we don't leave them!" Calligraphy Pen stuttered"T... Ta... Take them out... I can handle this..." "Dude the water got 10 times colder! Your going to die!" "I'll b... Fine..." Cookie ran over and pulled Lighter out "Make sure not to disappoint us Pen."
Team water:
The moment a drop of liquid nitrogen hit the water the team started scrambling out of the water. All of them but Hypnosis Pendant. Who was struggling to untie their cord. But unfortunately the others failed to notice and in their panic they flipped themselves over. So they were drowning in freezing cold liquid nitrogen ice water. Spork slowly sat up and after realizing what was going on ran over "HYPNOSIS!" They tried to claw at the dirt to get to the root but they couldn't. So they took a deep breath and dove into the water. With shut eyes they at first tried to find the root but couldn't. So they grabbed a pair of scissors from their pockets and cut Hypnosis Pendants strings. Hypnosis Pendant yowled in pain as Spork finally was able to carry them to the surface. Spork gasped immediately as they threw Hypnosis Pendant onto the grass. Spork threw up into the pool before crawling over to Hypnosis Pendant. They called out "HYPNOSIS PENDANT!? ARE YOU OKAY!?" Hypnosis was panting. They're eyes were bloodshot and had little bits of frost around they're nose, mouth and eyes. Spork shook them a little "HP!? SNAP OUT OF IT!" Hypnosis Pendant was clenching onto the grass as tears started flowing from they're eyes and they're breathing got worse. Pillow shoved Spork aside "NOT HELPING!" Pillow lowered her tone "Hey... Hypnosis Pendant...? Are you okay...? Do you need to go lie down or go to the hospital...?" Vintage ran over "I WAS GRABBING A HOT POCKET WHAT HAPPENED!?" "I think we should call a hospital for Hypnosis Pendant. They almost drowned!" "WHY ARE THEY'RE EYES COVERED IN ICE CRYSTALS!?" "Wait... You didn't turn the cold up...?" "GOSH NO!" Vintage looked at Team Water to see them all in pain and/or freezing "I think... We'll not have an elimination today... I think Team water has suffered enough... This'll make things a little more complicated... All teams may leave the ice pool!" RazorBlade huffed "Huh... Ours never got that cold." Flower watched Soapstone emerge from the bushes and walk over to Cappy who was helping Bottle dry off. She immediately knew what was going on.
Soapstone looked over at Hypnosis Pendant who was being looked at by an on-site doctor "What happened...?" Cappy chuckled "They flipped over and nearly drowned. You did an amazing job Soapstone. Welcome to Team Cappy." Soapstone put on a fake smile. But when she looked back at Hypnosis Pendant her smile faded. Seeing how much pain they were in made her feel a sting of guilt aimed directly at her. Cappy noticed this and gave her a shoulder pat "You'll get used to it Soapstone."
Later that night:
Broom secretly snuck out of the cabin late at night to find out the cause of the sudden cold. The managed to see past the ice to see a tube! They walked straight from where the tube was to find an opening with a bucket he got closer and looked at the bucket to see it was empty. But it smelled of chemicals. Broom started walking back when he noticed something in team fires pool. He ran up to it to see Cali was still in it "CALLIGRAPHY PEN GET OUT NOW YOU'LL FREEZE!" Calligraphy Pen growled "I... I ain't no... Pu..." Broom hissed "I'LL DRAG YOU OUT IF I HAVE TOO!"
Cookie walked into Vintages office to see him hunched over his desk. Clearly frustrated "Vintage...?" Vintage looked over "Oh! Cookie! Did you need something?" Cookie walked up next to them and placed a cup of coffee besides them "Here. I know how much today will have screwed up your schedule. So I figured you'd still be awake and stressed." Vintage looked at the cup of coffee for a moment before looking at Cookie, smiling "Your too sweet! You go ahead and go to bed alright? I'll be fine! Thank you so much!" Cookie smiled "It's no problem! Welp, I'll see you tomorrow...!" Cookie left his office and after having a quick pan panic went back to the cabins. Meanwhile Vintage drank the coffee almost immediately. They ended up being able to smile through the rest of they're work. That one gesture meant the world to him.
