Daffodil was walking through the forest when she heard was sounded like crying as she got closer to the origin of the sound she realized it was coming from a nearby bush. As she walked closer she saw a half broken eggshell. She ran over to see a child sitting inside "Oh... Poor dear... Who left you here hmm?" When she reached for the child she noticed they seemed scared. When they yowled at her a small flame came from the hole in their head. She backed up a little "Oh my... You'll have to get that temper under control young one..." She picked him up and cradled him in her arms "There... See...? It's okay... Let's take you back to the village now. My son will love to have a playmate."
Around 10 years passed. Lighter and CB grew up closer than anything or anyone around them. They only ever made a few friends. But that didn't matter. Nothing mattered. Including daffodil loving CB more. Nothing else in the world mattered as they had each other till the bitter end. Right? When one day CB had been chosen to go pick berries for the village. We don't need you burning down our home!" Lighter paused. Anger burned though his veins "MAYBE IF YOU TRIED TO HELP ME I WOULDN'T BE LIKE THIS! BUT NO!" as Lighter said No a spark flew out of his hole causing Daffodil to back up "YOU NEVER TRIED TO TAKE ME TO A THERAPIST OR ANYTHING! ALL YOU DID WAS PUSH ME ASIDE LIKE I DON'T MATTER! I WANT TO BE TREATED EQUALLY! I WANT TO HAVE A LIFE! I WANT TO BE IMPORTANT!!!" A huge flame flew out of his head causing a branch to catch fire. Everyone looked on in shock. Lighter was too blinded by his rage to see. He only realized something was wrong when Daffodil ran away. He looked up to see the branch falling. Her ran away just as it collapsed. As the fire spread from the tree to the grass everyone ran away screaming. All Lighter could do was watch on horror as the smell of fire and burning grass corrupted his lungs. The feeling of the unnatural warmth on his metal made him shake and shiver as if he was cold. When he snapped back to reality he was on the floor sobbing as everything around him was burning. When he realized what was going on he stood up and sprinted. Trying his damnedest to ignore the burning corpses of those he considered family. When suddenly he glanced up to see a burning branch. Before he could get out of the way it smacked him in the face causing him to scream. His screams echoed across the burning remains of the village. He wiggles free. Clenching he eye as he ran away. Eventually when it started raining he collapsed. Staring at a puddle as he looked over his melting eye as his vision in it only became more and more blurry. When suddenly he heard heavy footsteps. He looked over to see CB. Staring at him "What happened...? I heard screaming at the village and when I went there... Was there a lightning strike...?" Lighter paused before he started sobbing "I'm so sorry... It was my fault I... I was mad at Mom and I..." CB paused. Shock glistening in their eyes before they tacked Lighter to the ground. Smithery started kicking him repeatedly "IT'S YOUR FAULT! YOU KILLED THEM! YOU FUCKING MONSTER! YOU KILLED THEM ALL!" When suddenly someone heard the commotion and ran over. Separating the 2 "Woah woah! Kiddos... what's wrong?" Lighter looked over. Still clenching his eye to see a woman who looked to be about 50 or 60 years old. She was a teacup with a apron and a kind smile. When they told her what happened she called the police for them.
Lighter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and was given 10 years in prison and a 100000$ fine of which Teacup paid. They also paid his bail. (Turns out she was a retired war veteran with no kids. So she had plenty of money to spare.) Saying he didn't deserve to have his childhood ripped from him for an accident. She took him to anger management therapy and later actual therapy. Him and CB remained distant. Sometimes CB even being violent towards him. Whenever there was a family event if Lighter wanted to go. CB wanted to stay home. One day Lighter decided to give his brother the chance to make new family. Luckily Teacup was always there for him. Especially when he needed her. Nothing like daffodil was. When he turned 20 she died from old age. She split her property between the 2 of them. CB moved out as soon as it was announced. Lighter lived in that house for a year before hearing about the challenge. He decided to enter. When on the website when saw CB had entered. He prayed he wouldn't have to face him.
