You eyed Barry carefully from across the table at the local diner. "What do you mean you don't want to meet them? You said you wanted to meet them last night." Barry still looked as tired and rough as he did when he appeared at your door the night before. He was forced to leave early in the morning, so the twins wouldn't find him in your bed. "(Y/N), I'll just ruin everything for them. They're better without me in their lives," Barry muttered after a moment. You noticed he stared down into his cup of coffee. It was weird to see him not eating. "How could you ruin things for them? They need their father. I need you." You reached out to lay your hand on top of his. "Barry, the twins have your speed. I've done what I can for them, but they need you to teach them how to handle it." Barry shook his head. "To be honest, I haven't used my speed in a long time. Heck, the first time I used it was to come find you when Iris told me she saw you." Your mouth dropped open in shock. "Seriously?" You looked down at your food. "I know I hadn't heard about the Flash in the news, but I just figured you were finally keeping a low profile." "After you...I just couldn't move on." Barry coughed, making you look up at him. "Joe and Iris had to take care of me when I refused to leave my apartment or go to work. Eventually, I lost the apartment and went back to living with Joe for a while." He ran a hand through his hair, blushing slightly. "I've been slowly getting back on my feet after that, but it was hard to live without you."

Tears filled your eyes before getting to your feet to walk around the table to hug him. "I'm so sorry." You were going to say more, but you couldn't find the words as guilt turned your gut. "It's not your fault. The monster who kidnapped you is to blame for this." Barry's hands became fists as he pulled away from you. "We never did find out who it was." You bit your lip as you sank down in the chair beside him. "That doesn't matter. I don't think we'll see him again." Barry gave you a worried look. You shook your head. "Trust me, Barry." Barry pursed his lips. "I do." He took a long sip from his coffee before looking you in the eye. "Then trust me and meet our children," you said, pressing a long kiss to his lips. Barry melted into you. His fingers ran through your hair, pulling you closer to deepen the kiss. "Get a room," a young man shouted from across the diner. The two of you jumped apart, blushing. You cleared your throat before glancing at your phone. "I got to go. My lunch break is almost over." You kissed his cheek and got to your feet. "You'll come for dinner tonight?" Barry bounced his leg nervously as he stared down at his coffee. You picked up your purse. "Yeah, I will."

"Good. I love you," you said with a bright smile. You headed over to the cash register to pay. Barry watched you go. His leg continued to bounce as he shook his head in disbelief. He couldn't wrap his brain around the fact you were alive and you had his children. Once you were walking across the street to the hotel, Barry got to his feet and slowly left the diner. He wandered the streets until the time he was suppose to be at your home. The twins were loudly playing a video game in the living room when Barry appeared at the front door. You opened it quickly and pulled him into your bedroom. Barry gasped as you kissed him passionately. "I'm so happy you're here," you whispered against his lips. "This is scaring the life out of me." Barry bit his lip. You pulled away from him to change out of your work clothes. Barry's eyes followed your movements hungrily. "What if the kids hate me?" "They won't hate you." You slipped on more comfortable clothes. "Nora has your mind. She always investigating everything. Don has your sense of humor. He and you will have a blast." You gave him a bright smile.

Barry swallowed hard, his doubts getting the better of him. He ran his fingers through his hair before sinking down onto the bed. "I can't do this. I'll just mess everything up. They deserve better than me." "Don't say that." You sank down beside him, running a hand up and down his back. "I know the last five years have been hard for you. They were hard for me too, but this is a chance for us to repair the damage that was done." You placed a kiss on his neck in the place that always drove him wild. "Please. Be the man I know you can be."  His leg started to bounce again. The spot on his neck warming in a pleasant way from your kiss. He turned to look you in the eye. A smile pulled on his lips when all he saw was love and support. "Okay, okay. I can do this," he whispered softly to himself. You kissed his cheek and got to your feet. "Come on, we'll do it now." You held out your hand. Barry hesitated. He swallowed down his fears before taking your hand. As you watched your twins stare blankly at Barry from across the table, you wondered if maybe you should have warmed them up to the idea before introducing them to their father.

Barry glanced between you and the twins, uncertain. You gave him a supportive smile. "Nora, Don, I know this is a shock," you said kindly. "But he left you to die," Don shouted, suddenly jumping to his feet. His body vibrating angrily. Barry's eyes widened at the sight. You sensed he didn't completely believe you when you told him the twins had his speed. "Don, he didn't mean to do that. He honestly meant to get to me in time." You gave him a reassuring smile, reaching out to lay a hand on his shoulder to calm him. "Besides, we don't need to worry about that. You two saved me." "But what if we weren't in your belly at the time, you would be dead, Mama," Nora cried, zooming over to hug you. You flinched slightly in surprise before hugging her tightly. Don joined the hug. Barry watched the three of you with a torn expression. "Sweethearts, please." You met Barry's eye as you turned the twins to face him. "This is your dad. We're going to let the past be in the past and we're going to try to be a happy family from now on." You motioned for Barry to kneel down in front of the twins.

Barry studied the twins with tears in his eyes. "You're both so beautiful." He pursed his lips, running a hand through his hair when the twins didn't move. "God, you both look like your mom." You smiled, resting your chin on top of Nora's head. "They have your eyes." The twins looked at each other before looking into Barry's eyes to see if what you said was true. "Our eyes are the same," Don said curiously, walking over to Barry. Barry was stunned at the sight. Nora slowly followed her brother. "Yeah, they are." Barry wrapped his arms around the twins timidly, scared they would reject him. When the twins didn't move, Barry sent you a smile from over their heads. You gave him a thumbs up. Getting to your feet, you moved around to make dinner for your speedsters. The twins warmed up to Barry, chattering to him as they stayed in his arms.
