Today was a normal day for team Flash, aside from the fact that there were no villains or other meta-humans to be fought or found. You sat on a stool across from your boyfriend Cisco. Ge turned his head, catching your eye, and you both smiled at each other. "Got anything you're doing tonight, Cisco?" He shook his head. "Thinking about a date tonight?" You frowned. "Actually, I got my sister's twin kids birthday party. I was going to say you should go have a guys' night with Barry or something." "Oh." Cisco walked around the white counter and sat beside you. "best of luck. I'm sure you got the kid-thing completely taken care of." You laughed, your head tilting backwards. "Sure I do, honey. I help take down super villains but kids are a completely different thing." Cisco wrapped an arm around your shoulders, hugging you close to him. "I'm serious. Take my love with you." He pointed his index finger at you. "But come into work tomorrow, cause I'd love to hear how all of those tiny rascals annoyed you." You punched his arm, causing him to yelp and jump back. "Don't worry. I'm not missing lab work for nothing." "Good, because I still need to beat you in Mario Kart." Your eyebrows furrowed. "Why didn't we do that today?" "Unlike you, I was working on something for Barry." You rolled your eyes before hopping off your stool. Cisco handed you your purse, pressing a kiss on your cheek before you left the lab. "Love you, (Y/N.)" You grinned, waving him goodbye. "Love you, too, Cisco."
By nine o' clock the next morning, Cisco paced back and forth across the lab. Barry and Caitlin watched him, fists balled up while holding their heads to keep them awake. "Cisco, I'm sure she's fine. Calm down." "I can't Caitlin." Cisco stopped, staring at his friend. "She's two hours late. And she hasn't been answering my calls or texts. What if something happened?" "(Y/N) just probably slept in," Barry added. He stood up. "If you are that concerned about her, go and check her apartment." Cisco hit himself on the head. "That actually didn't come into my head." He smiled. "Thanks, Barry." He stuffed his phone into his back pocket before leaving the lab. Just as Cisco left, Barry's phone buzzed on the table. Barry checked it, noticing it was a message from you. "Hey, (Y/N) just sent me a message." "What does it say?" Caitlin peaked over Barry's shoulder. "Oh." "Yeah." Barry sighed, stuffing his phone into his jacket. "Do you think I should stop Cisco?" Caitlin pursed her lips and shook her head. "Let him be her hero instead of a hopeless romantic for once."
Cisco knocked on the door of your apartment and waited patiently. He was nervous about what was behind the door. The sound of footsteps was a good sign, but when you opened the door, that was a whole different story. Your nose was red, and your eyes were puffy and red. To add, your hair was a mess and your face flushed involuntary.Cisco's eyes widened, and you sighed. "Kids got me sick,"you stated, nose clogged up. "Oh," he said. Cisco walked into the apartment, and you shut the door. "Is it just a cold, or are you throwing up." "Just a cold," you replied. "You should probably get back to work. Cisco, I'd rather you wouldn't be sick with me." "Nope." He shook his head. "I'm staying. You-" he pointed to the couch. "-Lay down. I'm making you some soup." "Do you even know how to make soup?" you lay down on the couch and stretched your sore limbs. Cisco stopped. "Um, no. But I'll find a way." You chuckled, shaking your head, but that only caused your head to radiate pain. He frowned at you as you winced. "How about we start out with some aspirin meds. I'm sure that's the best way to start." "Yeah..." you groaned, holding your head. You sniffled, holding your head. "I hate being sick." "Yeah, I think I caught onto that." Moments later, Cisco brought you aspirin and water. "My hero," you joked, sitting up so you could take the medicine. "I think I have a can of chicken soup in the cupboard. Heat it up and stir it occasionally." "Okay."
After the soup was finished heating, Cisco brought you a bowl of it. "Thanks." You sipped a little of the soup before setting it down on the coffee table. "Y'know, I think I sent you a text saying I was sick. There was no need to be worried." "I didn't get a text," he replied, sitting down beside you. "You must have accidentally sent it to someone else." "Probably," you murmured, grabbing a tissue and blowing your nose into it. "Sorry you have to see me like this." "Don't apologize. It's not like you could help it or anything." Cisco gently pulled your body down so your head rested on his lap. "So, how was the birthday party?" The two of you kept the conversation lasting for almost an hour before you slowly drifted to sleep. Cisco's heart fluttered when he noticed the short, slow breaths you took while resting in his lap. "Yep," he whispered, looking forward, "I'm totally in love with her."
When you next opened your eyes, the sun began to set. You looked up at Cisco, noticing he was asleep. His head rested on the back of the couch while his fingers were lost in your eyes. Soft snores left his mouth. He looked peaceful. You sat up, and his hand dropped onto his lap. Placing a hand on his shoulder, you said, "Hey Cisco. Wake up." His head jolted up as the rest of his body adjusted to the sudden disruption. "Hmm, what?" "You can go take the bed. You look pretty tired." Cisco rubbed the back of his neck. "I did just wake up." He stood up. "You coming?" You nodded, standing up beside him. "Leave your shoes at the door. Jacket, too. I doubt you want to sleep in those." He nodded, walking to the door and taking those clothing items off. Cisco followed you into the bedroom, collapsing onto the bed and wrapping his arms around you. "Night, honey." "Night, Cisco. Love you." "Love you too."
