"Tread softly then. Don't break too many hearts," Cinder advised with a grin.

"I better go help feed the triplets. Lisa has a new habit of throwing as much food as she eats."

Jungkook watched him leave, taking a few minutes to decide what to do next.

When it came down to it, he realized he wanted to hear about it from one of the omegas themselves.

He sent Taehyung a text, asking him to round up Jimin and bring him to his study.

They arrived a few minutes after Jungkook did.

"So," he said.

"I just spoke to Prince Cinder. He told me everything. What I'm wondering is... why am I hearing it from him and not from you?"

"You could have approached me or tae, but you didn't talk to either of us, and I had to hear it from my brother-in-law."

He was a little peeved by that but happy that Cinder hadn't been too polite to approach him.

Jimin looked from him to tae. "I thought maybe it was just what happened during the contest."

"When we told the guides, they acted like it was no big deal. I figured it was just another sort of test."

Jungkook gave the omega a closer look. Jimin looked tired, his face strained, his eyes glassy.

"How long were you going to grin and bear it?" Jungkook asked, his tone incredulous.

"Until someone ended up in the hospital?"

Jimin shrugged,his gaze dropping to the floor.

There was a moment of quiet before Jungkook noticed the omega's shoulders heaving and realized he was crying silently.

"Jimin?" Taehyung asked softly, stepping closer.

"I want to go home," the omega sobbed.

"I hate it here. It's too noisy and strange. I can't sleep, since even before the betas started keeping us awake, and I miss Rufus."

With that declaration, Jimin stopped talking, his sobs growing louder as his hands covered his face.

Neither Jungkook nor Taehyung were good with crying people, but they were both drawn to the omega, guiding him from the study and into the living room, sitting him down on the couch and taking a seat either side of him.

"We want to know everything," Jungkook said gently. "Take your time."

Between muffled sobs and sighs, it all came out. Not just the betas and what they were doing to him and the other omegas.

but how hard he was struggling with the transition from home.

Sleep seemed to be the biggest sticking point.

"Is it the room?" Jungkook asked.

"Because we can find you some where else. Get you earplugs if it's too noisy."

Jimin shook his head. "I'm not used to sleeping alone."

That had both him and Taehyung puzzled. From what Jimin had said,he'd been nothing but alone, for years.

"Who do you sleep with?"

"Rufus," Jimin said with a sniffle.

"He sleeps at my feet. He protects me, and I protect him."

"I'm sure you do," Jungkook said.

"We could talk to your uncle, have Rufus brought here?"

Jimin shook his head. "It would not be fair to him. The island is his home."
