JUNGKOOK POV

The helicopter landed right next to a second one on the hospital roof.

Jungkook rushed out as soon as they touched down.

Kai on his heels,His phone was pressed to his ear as he tried to call Tae for the sixth time.

Each time it rang out.

"Still no answer?" Kai asked.

Jungkook shook his head.

"They might still be in theater," his brother suggested doubtfully.

"After almost two hours?"

"Maybe somewhere else then?"

"ICU? They don't allow phones there either."

They hurried down to Jimin's ward, Jungkook hesitating at the door before heading inside.

"What is it?" Kai asked.

"The royal guard is gone."

"They've had two officers outside that door since they arrived."

"Then chances are, Jimin has been moved elsewhere."

"They'll be able to tell us at the desk."

The clerk was a little tongue-tied when faced with not one, but two princes.

"My omega mate,Park Jimin?" Jungkook asked, casting his gaze toward Jimin's room.

The door was shut and the royal guards conspicuous in their absence.

She checked her computer.

"Yes, he came back up from recovery twenty minutes ago."

"All three babies delivered successfully but..." She frowned at her screen.

"One is down in the NICU, he needed a little assistance breathing."

"The other two are in the room with Jimin, we're monitoring them closely."

She pointed to a screen of monitors on the wall behind her.

Jungkook glanced at it but couldn't make any sense of it.

"Is Tae up here with Jimin or down in the ICU?" he asked her, watching how she hesitated.

"What is it?" he asked.

She glanced carefully left and right before leaning toward him and speaking in an undertone.

"He went down to the surgical suite with Jimin but he didn't come back up."

"There's a rumor going around that guards from the navy police came to the hospital arrested an alpha in the theater wing."

Jungkook tensed, looking to Kai who was already pulling out his phone.

"And the royal guards?" he asked the clerk since it was obvious they were gone.

She shrugged. "They left a few hours ago."

Jungkook tried to piece all that together.

Clearly, something had happened.

something had changed.

But he didn't understand what or why.

Kai pressed a hand to his shoulder and spoke into his ear.

"I'm going to make some calls about Tae and swing by the NICU to check on baby number three."

" I'll stay there for the moment."

"I don't think we should leave Jimin or the babies unattended right now."
