Jungkook wasn't quite sure what to do about his own feelings.

It wasn't so much that they'd changed or maybe it was.

All he knew was that when the morning of their outing to the cliffs arrived, his anticipation was at an all-time high.

It had a lot to do with the fact that Taehyung would be there.

The two of them hadn't had many chances to see each other recently.

Yet, he couldn't deny that Jimin's presence heightened rather than dampened his excitement.

Ever since he'd seen him and Tae sitting together on the couch, he'd been looking at the omega in a new light.

Tae was right underneath the socially awkward shyness was a keen mind thirsty to learn and crying out for new experiences.

He met Jimin and Tae at a side gate. Tae's presence was easily explained away as a necessity given their chosen activity.

It was safer to climb with three than two, even if they were only scaling the nearby cliffs.

Tae had a bag thrown over his shoulder which contained their lunch, and Jungkook had a bag of his own with the basics, including a first aid kit he hoped they wouldn't need.

At first glance, Jimin looked anxious, his arms wrapped around his stomach.

"Something wrong?" Jungkook asked him.

The omega tipped his head to the side before shaking it quickly.

"I left Bam with Kim. I hope he'll be okay."

"I'm sure he'll be fine. Kim will tire him out, he'll have a long snooze, and you'll be back to him before you know it."

"Besides," Tae added, "he'll be so happy to see you, it'll be worth having left."

They waved to the royal guards who let them through the gate.

"Are we starting at the top and climbing down or at the bottom and climbing up?" Jimin asked, surveying the cliff path they were walking along.

"I had in mind a cave we might visit," Jungkook said, pointing north along the shore.

"Best way to reach it is starting on the beach while the tide is out and climbing up. Once we're up we can decide whether we want to climb back down or keep on going to the path above."

Jimin's gaze took in the cliffside they were headed to with interest and no sense of apprehension.

Why would he have?

Climbing cliffs was an everyday occurrence for him.

"Are there any goats around here?" the omega asked, sending  Tae into peals of laughter.

"What?" Jimin asked in bewilderment. "Did I say something funny?"

"No," Jungkook said with a grin.

"You said something that is very you."

"Am I funny?" he asked, biting his lower lip.

"Are you laughing at me?"

Tae sobered quickly, throwing an arm around Jimin's shoulders.

"No, not laughing at you," he promised.

"You've had a very unique upbringing and thus have a very singular worldview."

That got him a narrow-eyed glare of suspicion from Jimin.

"Goats," Tae finally spit out.

"Goats are funny. The idea that you'd ask about them, that's all."
