The end of times

I pushed the heavy door open and slowly walked toward it. Getting to the car's front door and opening it. I was scared if an alarm would go off, luckily it didn't, and I sighed in relief. I looked all through the car for things of value. I found blankets and a few water bottles. I checked the trunk. There was a suitcase. I slowly opened it and there was a little bit of food. Hopefully to keep us semi-full for a couple weeks. The last thing I needed to do was check for fuel and quickly learn how to drive. I closed the trunk quietly and one of the girls came outside. "Miss, do you need help?". I looked down at her and shook my head, and quickly she walked back. I opened the front door once again and looked everywhere for keys. Till it hit me from the mirror, dangling from it. I pulled them down, and the pair of keys fell, landing on my lap. I started the car a few times and the gas was half a tank. I soon got out, ran back inside, and walked toward the girls. "Can you guys get in the car back there? I'll be there soon.", they nodded and rushed outside. I looked around everywhere and luckily found a small gas supply. I walked outside and put a little more gas in the car, before putting the rest in the trunk. I looked in the backseat where the girls were staying. "Are you guys okay?", I asked. "Yes..", they replied. I reached over to the passenger seat and grabbed two blankets for them. They gladly took them and wrapped themselves in it. I took a deep breath in. "Miss, do you know how to drive?", they asked. "No..", I sadly replied. They looked scared, clearly afraid I might kill them. "We'll be okay, I promise.". I slowly put it to drive and carefully added pressure to the gas pedal. We drove down the snowy road and I made sure to go a little bit faster when I saw those freaks. I looked back quickly to see the girls sleeping. I pulled over twice during the trip, to put gas in the car. I was running out quickly and didn't even know where I was at the moment. A few more miles passed by, and I and the girls were playing I spy. I was winning recently which I took great pride in. "I spy with my little eye-". I was cut off by the engine sputtering. I quickly pulled over "Shit, shit, shit!", I panicked. I twisted the key over and over and slammed my hands on the steering wheel placing my head in my hands, sighing in frustration. I heard them jump. "What happened! Why did we stop?", they asked. "Grab whatever we need, and hurry up", I said frustrated. I opened my door and slammed it shut. Knowing I should have been more quiet then I was. The girls scrambled out looking  frightened by my outburst, I opened the trunk with force, grabbing everything. Tears began swelling up. I was angry but scared at the same time. I didn't want to die. I grabbed my pocket knife and got it ready. We got everything and started walking down the sidewalk. It was still freezing outside and the girls walked behind me, huddled up. I don't know how long we walked; but it was getting dark. I was tired and knew they were groaning from behind us. I turned quickly with my knife out. And soon enough two freaks were heading towards us. I pushed the girls behind me and didn't know what to do. They got closer and closer. Suddenly my arm went up and then down. I stabbed him with my pocket knife. I was shocked. I quickly went to the other as I pulled the girls with me, and looked quickly down the road making sure nothing was there. "Wait, I'm tired!", one of the girls wined; However, I ignored her and kept walking. "My feet hurt", the other whined. I eventually grew annoyed with them, becoming irritated. "Can we take a break?", they whined. "Do you want to die" "no but im tired" i rolled my eyes i motioned them towards me and picked them up i put my head down trying to get more comfortable till i heard them whimpering and lots of groaning i quickly looked up there was a huge hoard of them scattered everywhere i quickly put them down i pointed left "run and keep running if I don't come back in an hour find somewhere safe" "what about you?" they cried out "I'll be right behind u now go!"
