"You know (y/n), you should really get rid of that nasty habit of yours or your phone will be... dead by daylight! Ehe. Get it? No?" A cheery voice resonated from right behind, laughing at her own poor attempt of humor that our mc's cranky self didn't find it in her to at least pretend to be amused with.
"I can explain if you would like-"
(Y/n) cut her off before she could continue, her voice flat. "No."
The concerned denied without a single thought. She did not need an in depth explanation of her lame play of words of such an ancient video game from before The Great Unification.
"Haha. Also veeery mature of you for a senior student Chisato-san. Disrupting my well deserved rest out of spite? Maybe try to achieve more to be bestowed vacation time from the higher ups?" (y/n) snapped at her with a small annoyed smile, veins bulging from her forehead and neck as she slowly turned around to face the mischievous girl.
Chisato Hanako, an overly energetic woman from Nagoya, Japan, whose parents decided to relocate to Canada to study and an expert of doing everything except studying. In short: that one annoying roommate.
'And a spoiled privileged brat.'
Her hands squeezed down on her waist, trying to control the urge to choke her lights out. Otherwise, she would absolutely strangle her to death.
Being a good two heads taller and the sheer fragility of a neck made it a sure outcome.
Something her annoying companion seemed yet to have registered.
"Hey hey~ No need to go so low~ I prefer quality over quantity anyways. Besides: Not my fault if a certain someone just leaves their phone defenseless and out in the open! Kinda disappointed with the search history. Was expecting something interesting but man are you boring as always!" Hanako chuckled as she went to her side of the room, of course not forgetting to come back just to slap her grumpy roommate's nape before rushing away to avoid a hit.
The woman's eyebrow twitched as she watched her plop down ungracefully on her messy bed, kicking her legs up as she tapped on her bright blue bracelet, making the all too familiar projection of her homepage appear before mindlessly scrolling through the internet.
Now that (y/n) looked more closely, it wasn't just the bed that was messy but the whole entirety of the corner this creature resided in. The clutter having piled up faster than she could keep track of.
Was it her or she could see mold growing?
She made no comment.
As sad as it was to realize, she grew desensitized to the sight. Tired of the amount of times she scolded her to fix that more than annoying habit of her among many others.
There was no point to it because even with the daily interaction, to her she wasn't anything remotely close to a friend. Not even a colleague. At most she was tolerating her.
