(Y/n) sat in a quiet corner of the chamber, alone, arms wrapped tightly around her knees, still glaring at the floating system window with an annoyed expression. The glow from the text was an unwelcome reminder of the mess she landed herself in. She was far too spooked to stay in the dark on her own, but the thought of mingling with the panicked strangers scattered throughout the room didn't sound any better. Be it asleep or awake.
Who knows what a bunch of panicked and hysterical individuals in an unfamiliar closed space would do?
All around her confusion reigned supreme. Some people sobbed in despair, while others muttered crazy nonsense to themselves. A bunch of lunatics to say the least. She couldn't help but find it impressive how quickly these people lost their marbles.
'One tiny spark would be more than enough.'
It made her sigh heavily. Such uselessness and a complete waste of tears. It was simply dehydrating to watch.
Crying does not solve anything. It never does.
Well, unless you needed more time to pay back a couple of ruffians you borrowed money from. A significant amount of money.
She shivered. That was... a different story.
At least they knew to remain put. She mused as her eyes drifted back to the group. They stayed in their places unlike the courageous bunch that took it upon themselves to look around the large cavey space in search of an exit. Her gaze cautiously followed their every move.
Feeling icky.
The way they just kept on poking and prodding at the strange levers they would find with no end, or the foreign inscriptions on the walls. It was truly careless. She sighed. If she remembered correctly, the tutorial was unforgiving. Mistakes here wouldn't just cost lives: they would set the tone for everything that would follow.
Mistakes... they're a luxury someone like her couldn't afford to make.
She leaned back against the cool stone wall, her glasses reflecting the faint glow of the system interface. She'd transmigrated into Regressor Instruction Manual, a manhwa she devoured countless times over, obsessively so. But this wasn't the glorious start she had imagined. She noticed it almost immediately.
No main cast members were here-no Lee Kiyoung, no Kim Hyunsung, no Park Deokgoo and not even Hayan. Which meant that instead she'd been dumped into what she could only assume to be some sort of a... side spawning location for cannon fodder.
"Perfect," she muttered sarcastically as she slicked the hair back from her face. "Absolutely perfect."
Pinching the bridge of her nose, she let out a sharp frustrated exhale. She lost one of her possibly biggest advantages.
Her grand plan went up in literal flames before her very own eyes and she did not even have the chance to put it into action. Just suck up to Deokgoo or Hyunsung, maybe Kiyoung as well if she safely could.
It was simple.
...But how will that fucking work if they're not even here to begin with?!
She bit down on her finger. There was no way for her to safely reach the survivor camp on her own and in one piece.
