Stars and numbers [Chap. 6]

I smile after my pun to the skeleton. I can't believe that came out so smoothly too.... damn I must be a comedian.

"Heh, good one" He replied but, something about him seemed... reserved? He turned away from me and kept on looking up at the sky... ohhhh... the stars. It makes sense that he would like the stars, he's never seen them before.

"They're pretty, right?" I keep my head up high towards the sky.

A moment of silence falls on us before he replies, ".... yeah...." His bright irises seem to trace over the stars as they frantically try to find the pattern, I'm assuming constellations.

"Here..." I grab his skeleton hand and made it point to a constellation that looked like a flower.

"This one is my favorite!..." I try to make small talk with the silent skeleton but he doesn't seem that for it. I glance over at him and he was just staring at me. His face started to glow a light blue. Oh god, I touched him without permission, man I'm so dumb.

"O-Oh! I'm so sorry. It was rude of me to touch you like that..." I quickly let go of his hand and look away.

I could hear him clear his throat. "N-Nah it's good, n/n" I turn my head towards him and smile.

"Alright then!... So, uh, what brings you out here alone?" I ask.

The skeleton grasped his head in his hand, "Uh, That music, it's too much for my bone-head..." I don't think he realized he made a pun but, I couldn't help but let out a little snicker.

"Hahaha.... I get it. That music was a little... to much for me too..." I sigh and look along the yard. There was a sign dug into the ground, and it had my old high school's name on it. Those memories here... I'll hold them close. But that thing that happened in the gym.... never again.

It seemed like I had a look on my face because sans started to worry a bit, "Ya sure you're okay? Your face is givin' you away..." I look away from him because I knew it was true, my expressions always acted on my behalf.

"It's just... some humans are... awful." I started to get quite towards the end of my sentence. I guess that interaction weighed heavily on my soul, that's what I get for being kind. His face flashed in my mind for a few seconds. I could still smell the alcohol burning my nose...

Sans looked at me and nodded in approval. "Yup... some of them. Not all." He smiled at me. Or maybe that was just his normal expression, I couldn't really tell but, I knew that was aimed towards me. I couldn't help but get butterflies in my stomach. Was he really giving me a compliment? ME? I look away with a light blush dusted on my cheeks.

"That's a pretty bad flirting attempt, never took you for the brave type..." Ah who am I kidding, it was a good attempt, on me of course. But, like always, I'm hiding behind sarcasm as an escape from the conversation. Way to go me!!

"F-Flirtin'?? Who said I was flirting? Just trying to lift ya spirits that's all..." I glance back at him and see him looking very bashful.

"Mhm...." Another wave of silence fills our space.

Nothing left to say, I guess?

"I guess it did make me feel better..." I finally say after what felt like years.

"So... Y/n. Wanna trade numbers?" Sans asked so nonchalantly.

"O-Oh?... Sure..." I quickly try to get my phone out. I felt a little rushed and I panickily grabbed my phone and... well... It fell out of my hands. It almost started to tumble down the stairs before a bright film of blue incased it.

"Heh, your phone is trying to run away, what ya do? Drop it all the time?" I smile at the lighthearted atmosphere.

"Ah, sorry. It seems like my hands were much more sweater than I thought..." I look away, embarrassed but the skeleton didn't seem to mind.

He grabbed my phone using his blue magic and started to type away on my phone. I couldn't really see what he was doing but it was much more than putting his number in it.

"Here ya go..." He tossed me my phone back and I caught it flawlessly... Is what I would have said if I did do that. Instead, when he tossed it at me, I fumbled around with it and it kept on jumping out of my hands until I finally caught it.

I look down at it quickly to see what he did and I suddenly saw two new apps on my phone.

"Hey! I never said you could do that!" I argue.

"Oh yeah, one of the apps allows you to contact with monster phone numbers, mostly all the monsters have changed to human numbers but, I'm a bit lazy so, I still have my monster one. And that second app is the monster networking system, alphy made it so humans could access it but, only if the human has the password each monster has. So, you're technically my human on the app, look."

He made sure I could watch what he was doing as he clicked onto his profile and underneath it, there was a section that read 'My humans:' and below there was a empty profile, which was mine.

"Basically, the app gives the monster the password and the monster has to give it to a human to use. And once that password is given out, it can't be used again. Alphys set this system up so humans couldn't just join and make fun of monsters, and so if a monster does invite a human like that, alphys will know who to punish or talk to. Pretty cool..."

I look down at the app on my phone and looked around sans' profile. It's just a bunch of pictures of him and papyrus and each one is labeled 'so cool.' Aw...

"oh so, you wasted your one human password on me? Man you must really like me..." I decided to tease him a bit.

"Hm, maybe I do?" His reply hit me in the head so suddenly.

"I- Uh- well- ... U-Uh..." I became a blushing mess. Of course he was joking but... it felt so real.

Before I could reply, a tall skeleton walks outside with me and sans.

"Why brother!!!! I was looking all over for you and you're with... HUMAN Y/N?!?!?!"
