isoo felt the weight of Lisa's disappointed gaze as it bore down on her. The guilt she was carrying for not telling Lisa about her part-time job was suffocating. She had always been the one person Jisoo could turn to, yet she had kept this secret, not trusting her friend with the details of her life. Jisoo's heart ached as Lisa's words sank in, each one a reminder of her failure to confide in the person who cared for her most.
"Lisa, I'm sorry," Jisoo murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. She felt the sting of the words, but no matter how much she apologized, it wouldn't change the disappointment in Lisa's eyes.
Lisa didn’t respond immediately, choosing instead to glare at her, arms crossed. Jisoo felt herself shrinking under the intensity of the gaze. "Jisoo... you... I don’t have any words. What if something happened to you? What if Taehyung oppa wasn’t there?" Lisa's voice wavered with concern, but the disappointment still lingered.
Jisoo lowered her head, unable to meet Lisa's eyes. The guilt overwhelmed her. She had never meant to hide things from Lisa, but she hadn’t wanted to worry her friend. And yet, now it was too late. If she had just confided in Lisa earlier, maybe things wouldn't have gotten so out of hand.
Lisa continued, her voice softer now but still filled with hurt. "I’ve always been there for you, in your happiness and your sadness... but you didn’t trust me enough to tell me what was really going on. If I had known, I could’ve been there for you. I could've helped you in case something happened."
The words cut deep. Jisoo wanted to tell Lisa everything, to explain that she didn’t want to burden her, but she couldn't seem to find the right words. All she could do was nod, her heart heavy with regret.
Lisa finally sighed, the tension in her expression easing, though there was still a hint of disappointment. "Don’t be sorry," she said quietly, shaking her head. "It’s good you’re quitting that job, though. I’ll help you find something else. I know you don’t want my help, but at least let me find you a proper part-time job. Something safer."
Jisoo opened her mouth to protest, but Lisa’s smile was gentle and understanding. "Please, let me help. I just want you to be safe."
Jisoo hesitated but eventually nodded. She had no choice but to accept the help, though the thought of depending on Lisa made her feel even more guilty.
Lisa then shifted her attention to the two brothers, who had been silently observing the exchange. Taehyung was looking out the window, clearly trying to ignore the situation, but Lisa was having none of it.
As soon as Lisa caught Taehyung’s gaze, his eyes quickly shifted away, but Lisa raised an eyebrow, sensing something was off.
"Oppa..." Lisa began, her voice playful but sharp, "I think you forgot something."
She glanced from Taehyung to Jisoo, who was still sulking and lost in her own thoughts. Lisa smirked knowingly, her eyes narrowing as she tested Taehyung.
"You really like her, don’t you?" Lisa whispered, her words deliberately quiet but clear enough for Taehyung to hear. She saw him glance at Jisoo, then at Jungkook, who was watching the interaction with amusement. Lisa’s teasing smile widened, sensing the shift in Taehyung’s demeanor.
Taehyung shook his head in an attempt to dismiss the conversation, but Lisa wasn’t going to let it slide that easily.
"Then why did you run away earlier?" she asked, leaning in slightly, her voice dripping with mischief. "You ran after her like a knight in shining armor. If you didn’t like her, why would you do that?"
