" What if I fall too deep to regret it later "
;-)Chapter 13
Lisa settled into her seat, clutching her boarding pass tightly. The excitement and joy of the Paris trip hadn’t worn off, but a deeper, more personal memory now dominated her thoughts. Her cheeks flushed as she rested her head against the seat, recalling the events of the previous evening. It had started as a normal shopping trip, with Jungkook walking alongside her, quieter than usual. He seemed distracted, but Lisa had chalked it up to fatigue. Little did she know, something much bigger was weighing on his mind.
They had wandered through a grand Parisian mall, Lisa browsing enthusiastically while Jungkook followed close behind, occasionally offering a nod or a quiet "That looks nice."
"Should I get this for Taehyung oppa?" Lisa asked, holding up a car-themed keychain she knew Taehyung would like.
Jungkook nodded but didn't respond otherwise, his attention elsewhere. As Lisa moved on to another section, Jungkook's gaze lingered on her, the way her black dress from the wedding still caught every eye in the store.
It was at the Thai restaurant later that evening when things changed. Lisa had been eagerly waiting for her meal, tapping her fingers impatiently.
"Where did you go? You left me starving here!" she teased as Jungkook finally returned to the table after vanishing for nearly thirty minutes.
Jungkook sat down, his usual bright smile absent. Instead, his expression was serious, almost nervous.
"Lisa," he began, his voice quieter than usual. "Can I ask you something?"
Lisa tilted her head, curious. "Of course, Kookie. What’s up?"
Jungkook hesitated, his hands fidgeting under the table. "What... what do you think about me?"
Lisa froze for a moment, caught off guard. Her heart began to race. "What do I think about you? What kind of question is that?"
"I mean..." Jungkook exhaled deeply, his voice growing firmer. "I’ve been holding this in for so long, Lisa. I can’t do it anymore."
Lisa’s eyes widened as realization dawned on her.
"I like you, Lisa. No—" He shook his head. "I love you. I have for years. I didn’t know how to say it, or if I even should, but I can’t keep it to myself. You’re... everything to me."
Lisa stared at him, her mouth slightly open in surprise.
"I don’t know if you feel the same, but I can’t stand seeing you with anyone else. Not hyung, not anyone." Jungkook looked down, his cheeks flushing. "You don’t have to say anything. I just needed you to know."
For a moment, silence hung between them. Then, Lisa's lips curved into a wide smile.
"You idiot," she said softly, leaning forward. "It took you this long to say it?"
Jungkook blinked in confusion.
"I’ve loved you too, Jungkook," Lisa confessed, her voice trembling slightly. "For years. I’ve just been waiting for you to say it first."
The relief on Jungkook's face was almost comical. "You... you have?"
Lisa nodded, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "Yes, and now that you finally said it, I can stop pretending I don’t. I love you, Kookie."
Jungkook’s shy smile returned, but it was brighter than ever. "Really? You’re not just saying that?"
Lisa laughed, leaning across the table to hug him tightly. "Really. Now, let’s eat before I starve to death."
