Terror From the Deep

"Miss me?" She asked. "Mmmphhrrblmmm." Starhunter replied, his mouth still covered. "Let me help you." She said taking the gag out. Starhunter spit a few times before saying, "That was possibly the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. And thank you for saving me. I see you didn't decide to rejoin Deepreef?"

"No. I thought about it, he sucks, big time. I can help out my family later on, he thinks I died in battle, and my family got some thank you gifts."

"How'd you find us?"

"Stalked you."

"Ah. Good to know?"

"Don't worry. I was watching out for your sorry behind. I can't believe you are still going for Deepreef. Haven't you learned your lesson? You did literally nothing at the prison. From what I heard you got destroyed trying to catch him in HIS OWN DOMAIN. You really need to step up your game. You need me."

"I agree. Are you willing to help us?"

"Hmm, maybe. Know you four need the help." It didn't seem so much like an insult when she said it so much as her actually just commenting on the situation. They both turned their attention to the unconscious soldier. "What're we going to do with him?" Starhunter asked, "Hide him, get him away from here. He didn't see my face, he probably just thought one of your friends got him."

"Alright." The two of them carried him a fair bit away from the camp and hid him in a bush. As they walked back Starhunter said, "We should wake the others, tell them you're here to help. You are right?"

"Yeah. I left Deepreef behind. He was insane, I wasn't okay serving that."

"Hmm." Starhunter read her mind. She wasn't lying. She did want to help them. He was blocked out soon after, she scowled at him, "Don't read my mind Nightwing."

"I'm sorry. I had to know if you were lying or not."

"I understand. I would do the same, I just don't like the feeling of it."

"How did you block me out? I've never seen someone who can do that."

"You just have to guard your mind. No one ever taught you?"

"No. I grew up among Nightwings, we don't learn that sort of stuff."

"I could teach you."

"Maybe I'll take you up on that sometime." They walked in silence. They walked back into camp, Muck and Wingshredder were up. When they saw Starhunter and Abyss walking side by side, they both growled and got ready to fight. "Hey, hey, hey, she's with us."

"What, you're just taking her word for it?"

"No. I saw her mind. She is not lying, she's here to help us take out Deepreef."

"Alright. I got my eye on you though."

"I would expect no less. It's what I deserve." There was tension. Ash finally woke up, and saw the situation. "Hey, Abyss, isn't it? Looking good, hope you're not here to kill us or anything."

"Thank you. Ash. Yes, my name is Abyss, and no I'm not here to kill you."

"She's not. I saw."

"Well who's hungry? I sure am." Ash once again tried to cut the tension. "Yeah, Ash, let's go catch something." Ash, Starhunter, and Abyss went out to look for something to eat. Muck and Wingshredder talked in hushed whispers about Abyss, wondering if they could trust her or not. At the same time, Ash, Starhunter, and Abyss spotted some game. They easily carried it off and brought it back to camp. They cooked it and ate it, it was filling and gave them inspiration. Abyss finally spoke, "We need help from Darkstalker."
