- A YEAR LATER -

It was almost Summer break for you. Nature was blooming once more and the temperatures were started to get higher and Summer was more and more visible. It was Hinas birthday soon so you decided to visit Shibuya to get your beloved friend a present.

Roaming the streets with your list of things you could plausibly get your friend you saw many different types of people.

A group of guy friends who were just happy to be with each other making a video while one of them sat on the others shoulders. They looked happy, genuinely happy to be in the presence of one another. They looked so happy it made you smile. A male with a bunch of piercings sitting at a bench watching the group of guys with a stern look on his face, a group of teenage girls chatting and gossiping having fun on the busy street. A girl with braids who looked rather in a hurry once you passed by her.

You decided to grab a drink and sit for a second. The heavy summer air was exhausting. Shopping was exhausting.

Why was everything so exhausting?

Grabbing a mango flavored drink you sat down and just looked up in the sky. It was so beautiful today. It smelled like fresh summer and the busy streets of Tokyo was full of many different types of people. You tapped your legs on the ground and inhaled the moment. You had been under a lot of stress because of the finals and now you just really wanted to relax. You closed your eyes for a split second but when you reopened them the busy street you were once admiring was empty. With no one but yourself.

What had happened? Where did everyone go? You swore just a moment ago there was a huge crowd of people and a lot of noise with music playing but all of a sudden the streets were empty.

The silence was.. too loud.

You checked your phone to find it was dead, not turning on even though you swore you had it was on 70% a moment ago. You took your work laptop out of your bag which was ideally fully charged when you checked at univerity, but when you tried to open it nothing came up. It didn't show it was dead it just didn't turn on at all. The screen was jet black.

What happened? There were no sounds at all. It was so quiet it made you sweat a little. Looking into the distance no one was in the cafes either. How did everyone disappear in the blink of an eye?

You didn't want to be alone. This felt like some sort of nightmare. Sure, you didn't talk to a lot of people personally but loneliness was your worst enemy. You couldn't stand being alone for a week straight how would you be alone if there was no one in Japan?

Your heart started to race as a wave of panic washed over you. Your heart started to race quicker, and louder. Your thoughts all over the place you quickly snapped yourself back to reality.

'No. Don't panic. Think rationally.' You thought to yourself trying desperately to calm yourself. There was no way you were alone in Tokyo, you decided to go look for someone, there had to be someone.

Looking around malls, your university, the library, you were exhausted at the end of it. No one anywhere. By now it was already sundown and you still hadn't found anyone. Sitting in the middle of a street you laid down. Breathing heavily from all the walking. No cars were working, nothing with an IC chip worked. Exhausted you closed your eyes to only have something bright open them again.

GAME

It said on the large billboard in front of you. You looked around and saw light coming from a building in the distance.

You ran, desperately trying to find someone other than yourself. Not paying mind to the obviously suspicious "game" billboard. As long as you weren't alone, right?
