?Chapter 10?─ The announcement.

Start from the beginning

Her spiritual sister agreed and gave her time to grab properly to her flipper before she started to move. They went away from the rest of the clan, diving and jumping outside of the water for Tsu'kida to jump higher and fall back in doing tricks or spinning.

Some hours had already passed and the two sisters were starting to feel tired. They decided to swim on the surface, appreciating how beautiful the island looked when the sun was coming down. The plants and creatures  above them were shining brightly in a lovely way, getting the Metkayina hypnotized with their colors.

They made their way back near the Metkayina's clan area and Tsu'kida got down from her sister's flipper and said goodbye, receiving a cute goodbye from the tulkun.

Kida!! ─ she heard from the distance, seeing Tsireya running her way with Aonung behind her.

Where were you? The clan started to get worried. ─ Aonung said, trying to hide his worry too.

I was with my spiritual sister, we went a bit far away to play together.

Well my dad is looking for you, I think it's important. ─ Tsireya said, making Tsu'kida's eyes enlighten with hope and expectation.

The Metkayina started running to where the family lived with the other two following behind. It didn't take her long to arrive, and when she did she saw Tonowari and Ronal waiting for her at the entrance of their home.

Come in, Tsu'kida. ─ he said calmly with his warm usual tone. ─ You two wait outside, I need to talk to her privately. ─ the two Na'vis nodded and walked away, understanding they couldn't hear whatever they were going to talk about.

Will she be okay? ─ Aonung said with blear worry in his voice and coughed quickly. ─ I mean, mom was there too, it looked like something serious.

She'll be okay, whatever it is I think she can handle it. ─ Tsireya said with a small fake smile trying to hide how worried she was.

Tsu'kida walked into the house and sat down, with Tonowari seating in front of her. Ronal walked behind her slowly with a judging look in her eyes while she stared at the youngest of them.

The tulkuns saw your parents with another clan. ─ Tonowari broke the silence going straight to the point, receiving a surprised look from the girl in front of him. ─ They said they saw a baby with them too.

Are they coming back?... ─ Tsu'kida said with her eyes fighting to contain the tears that had fastly formed in them.

We won't let them come back. ─ Ronal said with a firm tone. She had been staring down at the girl the whole time, making her a bit unforgettable.

Why? ─ she asked looking up to Ronal, who was moving closer to her now.

They have betrayed us. We never said anything for your safety, but they betrayed us when they left and we won't let them get back. ─ Ronal said, clearly angry at the girl who she was next to now.

Look Tsu'kida, your parents left us in the middle of a conflict with another clan and they stole part of our supplies when they did... We can't trust them anymore. ─ Tonowari said leaning to the front and grabbing the girl's arm. She looked back at him with tears rolling down her eyes, not being able to believe what she heard.

Ronal was about to say something else, but Tonowari got his hand up, signaling her to not say a word. He knew his wife was going to blame the girl for what her parents did, and he didn't want that for her. Ronal walked outside and left, leaving the Olo'eyktan and the girl alone.

Some minutes later Tsireya and Aonung appeared, seeing the girl still crying on the floor and his father waiting for them at the entrance.

Take her outside, she needs to get her mind into something else. ─ he said looking back at Tsu'kida with an understanding look.

Tsireya was the first one to enter, kneeling next to her friend and hugging her from the side. Aonung walked behind them two and touched both  shoulders.

Let's go to our place, the view there must be amazing now. ─ he said calmly. Tsu'kida looked up at him, her eyes red from crying, and nodded with a small smile.

The three Metkayinas walked into the path they made some time ago. They followed it and climbed some small rocks until they arrived. It was a small plain terrain filled with sand and rocks that was up into a not very big mountain. They used to go there every time they needed some time alone, and this was one of those moments.

The Na'vis sat down in the sand with Tsu'kida in the middle. Tsireya had an arm covering her friend and had Kida's head placed on her shoulder. They stared into the sea, which was in front of them. They had a really beautiful view of it from up there, from their place.

Neteyam was next to Tsu'kida, staring at her with worry in his eyes. The girl was in a deep trance since she connected herself to the tree. Everyone had noticed it, since the only ones that were still connected were Tsu'kida and Kiri. The Omaticaya was about to forcefully end the link Tsu'kida had, but Tsireya stopped him.

"If you do that you could modify the memory she's seeing, she could even forget about it completely" Tsireya said with the sign language.

The Omaticaya nodded, turning back to the girl next to him. He noticed her eyes were getting red, as if she had been crying the whole time. Neteyam stayed next to her to make sure she woke up soon, staring at the Metkayina with fear and concern in his eyes now.

The tree suddenly started flickering, they all looked at Kiri whose body was moving aggresively while she still was connected to the tree. Tsu'kida wasn't moving the same way, but her ears flickered and her head moved as she was trying to avoid something.

Tsireya and Rotxo disconnected Kiri from the tree and started to get her up, struggling to get her to the surface. Neteyam quickly disconnected Tsu'kida and called Aonung to help him get her up since she still was in the same trance she was earlier.

Kiri! Tsu'kida! What's happening to them?! ─ Tuk said when she got to the surface.

Are they breathing? Are they breathing? ─ Rotxo asked with clear worry in his voice.

They called their Ilus and got both girls on them, noticing only Tsu'kida was breathing. Neteyam left her on Aonung's care and made his way to where his sister was, fastly reanimating her and making her breathe again.

Take them back to the village! ─ Tsireya screamed while she helped her brother get on the Ilu with Tsu'kida.

Neteyam and Aonung started riding fast outside of the cove of ancestors, trying to not loose any more time. The rest of the group called more Ilus and followed them, not being able to keep up to their pace.
