?Chapter 12?─ Feelings.

Start from the beginning

The Metkayina walked into the house and sat next to Tuk, seeing they were all doing what she had thought of. She grabbed the leaves in front of her and started wrapping the already cut fish that was placed into a bowl.

Some minutes had passed and now the bowls were almost empty. Tuk kept grabbing the ones they prepared and placing them in a basket since she didn't want to ruin the fish trying to wrap it.

The four of them talked the whole time about trivial things, mostly answering the questions Neytiri made about anything and everything. Suddenly someone walked in with a basket in his hands.

Oh hey Tsu'kida! Didn't know you'd be here. ─ Lo'ak spoke as he left a basket filled with fresh fish on the floor next to the four of them, getting a grunt from Tuk who was already tired of the task.

I didn't think I'd be here either, but they asked me to help when they saw me outside ─ she answered looking up at the boy that was now staring down at her with a small smile on his lips.

Well we're going out to the reef now, if you want to join we will be there for a while. ─ he said now looking at his sisters too, receiving a nod from Kiri and an excited smile from Tuk.

By the way, Reya won't join today, she has something else to do. ─ Tsu'kida spoke fastly, to which she received a nod from the boy.

Lo'ak then turned back to the door, making Tsu'kida notice there was someone else at the door. Neteyam pulled his gaze quickly when he saw the Metkayina notice his presence, leaving her confused. She waved at him with a smile on her lips, being completely ignored by the boy. She was confused by his actions but then got away from her thoughts seeing the worried look Tuk gave her.

What's wrong, Tuk? ─ Tsu'kida said looking at the girl next to her, who had a sad look on her eyes now and looked up at Kiri before answering.

Neteyam is acting strange since... the incident of the other day... ─ she answered with her ears down, making the girl's heart break down in pieces.

Awh Tuk, everything will be fine, he might just be worried about what happened... ─ the Metkayina said putting an arm around the girl's shoulders.

I think it's not just that... He didn't even look at you when you waved at him, Tsu'kida. ─ said Kiri with concern in her voice as she turned to the girl.

I noticed that... ─ Tsu'kida said as she lowered her gaze to the ground and her ears went all the way they possibly could down.

Tsu'kida, what do you feel for my son? ─ Neytiri spoke breaking the small silence that had appeared, startling the Metkayina with her question.

I... We are friends, Tuk introduced us a while ago... ─ the girl answered with a small smile while her eyes looked sad.

You know I'm not talking about that... ─ Neytiri spoke again with her head slightly tiled to the side and moving left to right, a soft and warm look in her eyes, her ears down and a small smille on her lips.

I'm sorry Miss Sully... I just-

You don't have to be sorry, sweetie, it's okay. ─ the oldest one said giving the girl a reassuring look and soft smile.

I don't know what I feel... it's so strange for me to not be able to know what is it. ─ Tsu'kida said with sadness filling her gaze as she stared at the lady in front of her, who gave her an understanding nod.

Can you describe what you feel? Maybe we can help you. ─ intervened now Kiri, who was looking at the Metkayina with a warm smile. Tsu'kida nodded at her and sighed.

I feel comfortable around him, safe even. It's like he brings me some kind of peace I never had. ─ she started, with her eyes still on Kiri. ─ I feel the same way with you two too, but it's even stronger with him. He makes me feel... complete. ─ Tsu'kida had turned her eyes to the Sully's mother, seeing she still had the same warm reassuring look on her face.

That's what love feels like, sweetie. ─ Neytiri said with a wide smile as she looked at the girl in front of her, whose face turned to a confused one.

Love...?

You love my brother! I knew it since the beginning! ─ Tuk spoke now, getting up and jumping around from excitement.

Tuk don't say it that loud! Somebody could hear you! ─ Tsu'kida said and then got her hands to cover her flustered face.

Hey, it's okay. I think you should talk with Neteyam, he has been really confused too. ─ Kiri said placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, making her look at her understanding eyes.

My son has been acting different since we arrived here... I thought it was because of the change of surroundings, but I guess I was wrong. ─ Neytiri said grabbing the girl's attention, who gave her a confused look. ─ It's nothing, you should talk to him!

I will, I just can't find the time and he keeps ignoring me...

We will figure out something! Don't worry, you aren't alone in this Tsu'kida. ─ Kiri said giving the girl a warm and reassuring too.

Kiri moved closer to Tsu'kida and hugged her from a side after noticing her eyes started to turn glossy.

Yeah! We will help you get him to stop being such a wuss! ─ said Tuk, joining now the hug the other two had.

Tuk! Who taught you that?! ─ Neytiri said breaking the special moment and making Kiri and Tsu'kida laugh softly.

Lo'ak says it all the time, mom!

Oh that kid has his days counted. ─ Neytiri joked with a serious look in her face.

No mom! Don't do anything to him! It was my fault, I swear! ─ Tuk said after pulling away from the hug. She ran to her mother and kneeled next to her, making her laugh softly now.

I was just joking, Tuk. Just don't learn that type of stuff from him, okay?

Okay! ─ the girl said hugging her mother and being embraced quickly by her.

Tsu'kida, do you want to go to the reef now? We have almost finished with this. ─ Kiri spoke making the girl stop wrapping a piece of fish she had on her hand and look at her.

I'll join if you two want to go! Do you want to, Tuk? ─ the Metkayina said turning to the smallest of them, who was helping her mother now.

Yes! Can we go now, mom?

Of course, but finish wrapping those you have there first! ─ Neytiri said looking at Kiri and Tsu'kida, who nodded and continued with it.

The two girls handed the wrapped fish to Neytiri, who got them into the basket she had next to her and smiled at them. Tuk then got up with the help of her mother and started walking outside with the other two.

Take care! ─ Neytiri said from inside the house, getting as a response the three of them turning back and waving at her.

Bye mom! ─ Tuk said as she grabbed the girl's hands, standing in the middle. She then started to run, pulling their hands as she did so for them to go faster. ─ Come on! We will be arriving when they leave if we go so slow!

Tuk received a small laugh from the two girls and then turned to them with her tongue out.

The three of them went to grab the saddles from their stand and then called the Ilus. They got on them and started making their way directly to the reef, not wasting any time on the way.
