"Okay I'm done, it's cut shoulder length, and I'm leaving some length in the back, I'm not going any shorter then that."Kiara said before I could answer Lyssa."I refuse to go any shorter.
"That's fine."I said.
My niece Tiffany stood next to Alyssa, she was a little bit shorter then her."I like it, I know it ought to feel good, not having all that hair draping down your back."
I nodded in agreement."It does." My hair frown to the beginning of my butt and I was getting real tired of it.
"Oh and Daddy just called, he says we need to come home for some kind of meeting, or whatever."She said.
I nodded." OKay." I said as I stood up and and stretched out my long arms. Kiara had grabbed a broom and started sweeping up the remains of my hair. I turned to Tiffany."Don't forget you have to be recording in the morning."I said. I had just recently signed her to LeRenee's Productions and her singing career was now booming.
She nodded."I remember."She said.
I grabbed my purse and waited for Lyssa to tell them goodbye then we headed out in the March warm spring breeze. I got in the car and started driving down the Los Angeles streets. I never really liked this city much it was always to noisy and to crowded for me, but Michael suggested that we moved there just until we found a better place, so we rented a home over in Holmby Hills for only for temporary."Do you know what daddy wants to talk to us about?"Lyssa asked after a long moment of silence.
I shook my head."No, I can't say that I do."
"You don't think it's another one of those, ' You need to get more involved with school!' discussions is."She asked giving me a look.
I laughed."No, I don't, but he's right about that, we didn't pay for y'all to be in a performing arts school and all you are doing is going to classes all day."
"Oh My God, you sound just like him!"
"Well then you know it's true."
"Well, lucky for you guys I finally decided to overcome my fear of singing in front of people and be in the school play, now your happy."
"Oh really, I would like to see that happen."I said sarcastically, Alyssa hated singing in front of people that is why she chose to be a designer over singing and plus she says she doesn't want to sing just because she was the the daughter of Michael and Aaliyah Jackson.
"Well you'll see in about three months, I really want all of you to be there, especially Daddy."
"You love making him proud don't you?"I asked as I turned into the neighborhood.
She smiled."More than anything."
I gave her a warm hearted smile. If there was one thing that really hurt Lyssa was disappointing Michael, she hated it when she got in trouble by him, she hated it so much that she would cry, me on the other she just sort of stand there and look at me like I'm crazy or something.
When we finally reached the house John opened the gates up for us and I drove all the way to the front and parked my car. After turning the engine off and getting out the car I headed up the steps. When I we made it inside I could here voices coming from the living room, I put my purse down and followed Lyssa in there where everyone was sitting. All keeping up a conversation with each other. Michael sat in the chair by the fire place talking to Ciara. Jay and Prince was talking to each other and Paris and Mariah was talking to Blanket and Melanie. "What is this about?" i asked as I sat down in the other chair next to Michael. Everyone was quiet immediately like they always were when I was talking.
Michael looked up at me and smiled."Good your finally here, now I can get this started." he said as he stood up.
"As you know, your beautiful mother will be performing for the first time in a million-"He stopped when he saw me scolding up at him."I'm kidding, I'm kidding."He said giving me a sheepish smile.
I rolled my eyes.
"Anyways, and this will be the first time either of you see her perform, live."he continued."And I have been thinking, I'm not getting any younger and your mother definitely isn't getting any young, so I have decided to go on one last tour that I will ever in my life do just for you guys." he gave them all a cheeky smile."
"Daddy are you serious?! " Ciara asked, her face lighting up.
"Yes I am serious."
" Oh My God, we get see you perform! This just Oh My God...." Mariah started over exaggerating and over excited and we couldn't understand a word she was saying.
Mariah, sweetheart, calm down" I said she looked up at me and just smiled.
"Liyah, you don't look so happy about it."
I looked at the kids and back at him." Word in the kitchen. Now." I said as I stood up and walked on the kitchen. I leaned against the marble counter and waited for him. When he came in his face was creased with confusion." What's wrong?" she he asked.
"Michael do you remember exactly why you decided to stop performing and recording?" I asked.
"Of course because the business was getting in between our marriage and our family."
I nodded." Exactly, so why the hell are you doing another tour? "
" Were you not listening in there?" he asked.
" Yeah I was, but you know how Sony records are, they are going to use you to bring more money into the company! "
He rolled eyes." Why do you always have to look at the bad sides of things?" he asked.
" I'm not looking at the bad side of things I'm looking at how things happened in the past and it seems like all they did was use you over and over again and you know how you get when you realize it and all its going to start is a bunch of bull sh-"
" Ssh Liyah, please just be positive about this for once, please." He said after pressing his lips against mine.
Ugh I hated it when he did it that. I gave him a look.
" Please, if your instincts start telling you something then I'll cancel it."
I loosened up a bit." You promise?"
" I promise." He said as he wrapped my arms around my waist." I really want to do this for them."
I sighed." Okay whatever, what's the name of this one? " I mumbled.
" This Is It."
