"Your. Kidding, right."I said after staring at him as if he had another head growing out of his neck.
He shook his head with a smirk on his face that soon grew into a cocky smile."No I'm Not."
"Wow, just wow."I said.
He looked at me."What's wrong this time, liyah?"He asked with a sigh.
"Do you even know this Man?"I asked.
He looked at me trying really hard to not give me a sheepish smile, but his mout was trembling so hard that he couldn't fight it anymore.
I rolled my eyes."Oh My God."
"Hey don't you go pointing fingers, you don't know him either."He said
"That's my point, you really need to stop having interviews with people you don't know. You don't know nothing about him or his career or his history and he just might ruin your reputation. Oh I forgot it's already headed that way!"
"There you go being sarcastic again."He said.
"Well, what the hell do you expect?"I asked, angrily. "You know how I am about these kinds of things."
He nodded."Your right I do, but for ounce can you trust me?"He asked putting his arms around me."I always trust you with the things you do, why can't you trust me at least once?"
"I do trust you with somethings." I said. Trying to get out of his hold but he held such a tight grip on me."It's just that you give all these people too much of your trust and you don't know a damn thing about them."
"Oh, and your any better."
"I'm not saying that I'm better, I'm saying that you should choose your people wisely. And I've been telling you this for years but obviously it hadn't sunk into that big head of yours that you can't trust everybody you meet."
He looked at me but didn't say anything.
"I would rather you have chosen oprah to do this not who ever the hell Martin Bersher or Baster or what ever the hell is name is."
"It's Bashir."He corrected me smartly.
"Whatever."I said. And pushed him off of me.
"So I'm guessing your not going to do it?"He asked as he followed me out my office.
"Ya think?"
"Well, what am I suppose to tell him?"He asked, when he caught up to me."I already told him that I would have my whole family on the show. That includes my wife."
"Well, you should've thought about that before agreed for me to be on a show that you knew I would probably be against."I shot back.
"I thought that you would be for it."
I stopped in the middle of the hall and turned to him with a puzzled expression on my face."Michael, you couldn't have possibly thought that, you know how I am on these kinds of things."I said."You mean to tell me that this is what you thought"I looked up to the ceiling and put my index finger on the corner of my chin."Hmmm, Liyah wouldn't mind doing a documentary with me when there some random man that she let along me don't even know. Yeah she'll love that!!"
"Liyah, really?"he asked, I could tell he was getting frustrated by my sarcasm.
"Yes really."I said."i'm sorry Michael, but your just going to have to do this one yourself, I'm sorry. You can just tell him that I'll be on a business trip or something." I headed down the hall and Michael followed.
"So you want me to lie?"He asked.
"Like you haven't done it before."
"Mmm, you ha-oh never mind."He said. He obviously didn't want to hear me say ' Don't I always'We walked into the bedroom and closed the door behind us. I immediately began changing into my pajamas."So I'm also guessing that you don't want the kids on there either."
"Id rather not."I said when I slipped into my t-shirt.
"He's not going to like that."
"Well, like I said, you should've talked to me first before doing this."
He pointed is finger at me."Don't start Liyah, I'm not in the mood."
"Neither am I."I said then walked over to the bed and climbed in."Look, we'll leave it up to them if they want to do it then fine, I don't care. But if they don't then they can come with me."
"And where exactly are you going to go?"He asked as he sat down on his side of the bed.
"I don't know yet, but it's going to be far away from here. I know that's for sure."I had every right to not want to do that interview. My instincts was telling me not to. And even if it wasn't I still wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.
Michael just simply rolled his eyes and laid back into the pillows."Whatever you want, Liyah."He said the cut the lamp off.He turned the opposite direction and closed his eyes.
I sighed and turned off my lamp. Then turned the other direction but then I didn't feel comfortable so I turned towards Michael and laid on his chest and slowly drifted off listening to his heartbeat.
