Koda stood with his hands up muttering in a different language as he walked the perimeter of the Swan house. Jasper walked beside him with his hands in the pocket of his sweatshirt with a bored expression.

"So, this barrier protects the house?"  Jasper asked just to break the awkward silence.

"It can weaken over time but essentially, yes." Koda didn't look away from his work as he spoke. Another silence followed around them and Jasper felt it growing awkward. He felt nothing but content coming off of Koda which made him weary.

"You've been protecting her for a while now." Jasper meant it as a statement but it came out sounding like a question.

"Someone had to."  There it was, a spike of annoyance. So Koda did have emotions.

"I'm thankful for it." They both stopped walking when they reached the tree by Willow's room. Jasper felt like he should shake his hand after saying something like that but that would probably make things even more awkward.

"Do you think she's okay?" Koda asked as he strengthened the barrier around Willow's window.

"I don't know." Jasper didn't want to think about it. He silently cursed himself for not going with her.  "I hope so."

"She still loves you."  Kodas words were stoic but his emotions flared into a mixture of annoyance and sadness.

"Maybe but she loves you too." Jasper stated matter of factly. "I won't make her choose."

"So noble of you." Koda smirked as he quipped back.

"Very mature." Jasper rolled his eyes at the sarcasm.

"Listen, I don't like you. I watched her fall apart because of you. It'as going to take a lot for me to forgive that." Koda turned to face with his brown eyes narrowed at Jasper. "But if we make her choose she'll resent us."

"I don't need your forgiveness." Jasper huffed and rolled his eyes. The very thought of asking Koda for forgiveness made him sick to his stomach.

"But you need hers." Kodas eyes softened but his smirk remained.  "How used to begging are you? Might be on your knees for a while." Something about that last line made Jasper's chest tighten.

"I'll do whatever it takes." It wasn't a lie. Jasper would do whatever to get Willow back into his life. He was well aware of the fact that he messed and that it wasn't something that could be fixed easily.

"What I still don't get is how you could ever leave her?" Koda shook his head and sighed, not giving Jasper a chance to respond before he spoke again.  "So, you have a biological sister who is also a vampire who is trying to avenge her mates by killing Willow?"

"Yupp."

"What are you going to do?" Koda asked as the two came to a standstill in front of the house.

"What do you mean?" Jasper raised a brow.

"It's your sister. Are you going to kill her?" Koda's emotions stayed the same content level as it was earlier. He was almost impossible for Jasper to read and that made him a little on edge.

"If she comes after Willow then yes." Jasper answered honestly because he knew that the Olive he knew was gone. This Olive may be his sister but he will not hesitate to protect Willow at any cost.

"Coldhearted." Koda'as smirk returned.  "Alright lover boy, you take the first shift watching the house. The pack will switch out with you." Koda pulled the keys to his bike out of his pocket. Jasper watched him mount his bike and pull his long hair back into a bun to fit in the helmet. Koda hesitated and turned back towards Jasper.

"Just so you know. I don't care if she is your sister. I will kill her on site."

"And I'm coldhearted? Pretty boy." Jasper smirked and Koda laughed.

"Stop making me like you." Koda wagged his finger at Jasper."Her flight lands in 12 hours. I'll see you then."
