2 months later....
Ann Arbor, Michigan
The sound of the ball getting hit by the bat as I swinged it soothed me so much.
I threw the bat on the ground as Clarence caught the ball.
"Hey at least you didn't break the bat like you did the last time." Clarence said.
"Whatever man" I said as I picked up my phone from ground and scrolled through it.
"It been two months you know." He mumbled.
"Why did you say it like she is dead?" I asked.
"I wish I knew." Clarence said as he opened his water bottle and drank half of it.
I didn't say anything but sat on the bleachers while still scrolling on my phone.
"I really miss her."
"Then talk to her."
"I want to Clarence but I can't alright."
"All I know is that she is still in California living with a friend after her mom died two months ago." Clarence said.
"What happened with her father and brother?" I asks.
"I heard from someone that CPS found her dad but he didn't want nothing to do with her and her brother got arrested." He spoke.
"Damn."
"Yeah crazy."
"We should go back to California before my parents find out I wasn't staying at Cameron's place for the weekend.
"Yeah we should but did you-"
"Yeah I did."
Getting away from everything was right thing to do especially the fact that Francis ruined it and my mom still have no clue on what is going on which I want to tell her but I just can't.
I was expecting Francis to tell her everything but he never did and I guess he want me to do it.
" Ray Fisher Stadium , it is crazy we are going to play here in February." Clarence said interrupting my thoughts.
"Yeah me too."
"Wanna practice again Sammy?"
"Yeah let's just hope I hit the ball so far that it touch the sky."
Clarence laughs. "Yeah right."
Tuesday
"Are you going to ever break this phone because I am tired of keeping it for you." Cameron states.
"Yeah do me a favor destroy that thing for me like completely destroy it." I said as I close my locker.
Cameron smirks. "You don't have to tell me twice man."
Being friends with Cameron kind of scare me sometimes I don't know why but it does.
"Did you give Reece my new number?" I asked out of nowhere.
"No I didn't and I know our other friends didn't give it to her because she is annoying as fuck." He said.
"Weird because I never gave to her and she keep texting me when I told her to leave me alone."
"Block her and then get a restraining order." Cameron states.
"I was thinking about that." I said.
"When was the last time you talked to Reece?"
"When we were working on that Home Ec's project."
"My guess is that she took your phone without you looking and probably put her number there then decided to look through your phone." Cameron said as he shrugged.
I really hate when people invade my privacy like mind your damn fucking business.
"And look here she is walking over here." Cameron said while laughing.
I rolled my eyes at him and Reece came over with a smile on her face.
"Hey Sammy, how are you doing?" Reece asks.
"Fine." I said in a cold tone.
"Are you free tonight?"
Yeah I am free to jump off a bridge than being around you.
"Why?"
"I want to ask you on a date since you know single now."
I am not even single well I don't know if I am but it is none of her business since I don't want to get back together with her.
"Damn Sammy I didn't know you were single because a break and a break up is two different things." Cameron said.
" I know that Cameron and Reece we broke up a year ago ok it is over because I don't want you in my life anymore." I stated.
"Yeah, tell that girl man."
"Cameron please shut up for two minutes."
"Alright man but this is entertainment and it is good." He spoke.
I rolled my eyes at him and looked back at Reece.
"Just let it go and I like someone else who is way better than you even though we barely talk to each other but I love her."
"Fine whatever but I know you will come crawling back to me after you are done with her." She said and then stormed off.
Cameron and I looked at each other for a few minutes and then laughed.
"Did she really said that?" Cameron questioned.
"Yeah like I will ever crawl back to her." I says.
"She is out of her fucking mind and anyway let not pretend you didn't say you love Erika."
I sighed. "I do but I would rather say that in a year or couple months from now."
"Yeah but honestly, you should really talk to her."
"I don't know if she wants to talk to me but I really don't care anymore."
"Are you sure Sammy?"
"I could be lying if that what you want to hear."
