Monday
"Sammy, we need to talk." Francis said as he walked into my room.
"Sure what is it?" I asked.
"I know we got to a bad start ever since I came in your life but-"
"Francis I think we should try to get along with each other more but I still won't call you my stepfather and I mean you reminds me of an older brother." I said after cutting him off.
"Yeah I always have thought about that like it is just weird, but I love your mother though despite the age difference." He said while chuckling.
"Yeah, have you always had a thing for older women?"
Francis shakes his head no. " I have dated girls my own age but then your mom came into the picture."
"Okay."
"What is your favorite thing to do?"
This is the most awkward conversation I ever had.
I cleared my throat. " Hey Francis, I am kinda hungry so how about we get some food and get to know each other more."
"Sure."
**
2 hours later
"No way that is so funny" I laughed.
Me and Francis coming home after going to Burger King for lunch and honestly the things that I never knew about him is funny and fascinating.
"What is so funny?" Mom asked as she was sitting with Michelle watching tv.
"Francis was telling me a funny story about his childhood." I spoke.
"It is great to see you two getting along with each other." Mom said.
"Yeah." Francis said.
It is going to take a lot of time to get along with each other and it is not going to happen overnight.
"Hey mom can I talk to you for a second?" I questioned.
"What is it?" Mom questioned.
"This might sound crazy but would you mind If I go to Arizona with my friends next week?"
"What are you and your friends planning to do there?"
"Cameron's parents have a lake house there and we are just going chill and probably visit some museums and whatever is in Arizona anyway.
I was lying about the museums part but we might go there if we are somehow bored.
"Sammy, I want to say you can go but trust me that nothing bad will happen and you won't get in trouble."
"I promise mom."
"Okay then."
"Wait does that mean-"
"Yes Sammy you can go and I might change my mind if you keep acting surprised that I said yes."
