It was probably one a.m, but you couldn't stop now. You were driving to an old show set to 'investigate'. Well, more like salvage anything that lasted anywhere from thirty to fifty years. You had just been hired for a restoration job for an old t.v show called 'Welcome Home'. Maybe it was the words 'No experience required' plastered on the email, or the nostalgia that came with the show, but you were dragged in. This was your first job for a while now and frankly, becoming a waitress again was not an option anymore. To put it lightly: You were desperate and this was what you were reduced to.

"Made it, finally," you mumbled, pulling into the abandoned driveway. You parked your car and wandered inside the building. Opening the door (which was probably locked at some point, but opened anyways) you were immediately greeted with the stench of what could only be water damage and old acrylic. It was deadly silent, except for the occasional drop of water or cricket chirp.

Out of habit you reached for a light switch, but after a few tries you realized the power must have been out. You resorted to using the flashlight on your phone to search for paperwork.

Everything that could have been important was smeared with paint, but you grabbed as much as you could. What you were really here for was- you heard a gasp, and it definitely wasn't you. 'It's probably just my mind playing tricks on me' you thought. Well, in reality you were just going, 'shit, shit, shit, nobodies here, nobodies here, aah'.

And then you saw it, exactly what you came here for. The lead character of Welcome Home, Wally Darling. Or, his puppet to say the least. You barely got a glimpse of it before snatching it and hightailing your way out of there.

As soon as you got into your car, you checked on the doll. It was at least half your height, and fashioned a red ascot, blue cardigan, striped pants, dress shoes, and (what had to be your favorite part) an oversized blue pompadour. Overall his design was pretty cute and you sat him down in the passenger seat next to you. Sure he couldn't see outside, but you might as well confuse passer-by as to why your apparent kid was bright blue and yellow.

Starting your car once again and taking a few pit-stops along the way, you got back home in three hours. It definitely wasn't short, but it still gave you two hours of sleep. Propping the colorful puppet onto your desk you quickly dozed off.

The air was crisp and cool. You felt so happy, as you wandered around the colorful world. As you walked, you saw bright and cheery houses, but you didn't bat an eye at their appearance.

Someone, who seemed to be tending to their lawn, waved as you passed by.

Waving back to the person who seemed (eerily) familiar, you skipped ahead without a second thought. You honestly didn't know why you were so happy. All you knew was that you were, and would savor this moment of blissful ignorance.

You were on your third lap around the quaint neighborhood when something, or rather someone, caught your attention. They seemed to be digging something up. You almost questioned what they were doing, when your head started aching horribly. While you were inclined to go nearer, through your pain your mind clouded and you ran away.

As soon as you had gotten a few paces away, you felt just as you had before. Just as you were about to continue in your skipping you-
