Phoebe decided about an hour in that the new foster family was nice enough. Jack was a truck driver and his wife, Sam, was a nurse. They made small talk and it was a relief to find that she could put her guard down at least a little around them.

She still didn't fully trust them. She's not sure she could trust anyone ever again at this point. Besides Hayley maybe.

Getting checked out of the hospital takes longer than she's expecting, and then they stop for dinner on the way home. When they pull up to the house, it's already 6, but Phoebe follows them around silently. They give her a tour, and she has to admit it's one of the nicer, cleaner houses she's lived in.

"And this will be your room," Jack smiles, opening the door to let her in. It's not much, just exactly as she was expecting. A twin bed pushed into the corner of the room and a long dresser on the opposing wall.

She walks in, sets her stuff on the bed.

"Now we don't have many house rules, but there are a few," Sam smiles, leaning against the door. "First off, just let us know if you're leaving. Curfew is ten, but we might move it earlier once school starts until you get adjusted."

Phoebe nodded, that really didn't seem all that bad. In fact it was better than she was expecting.

"Another thing is, well, we have friends over quite often. We just ask that you stay in your room if anyone is here." Sam explains, and while Phoebe doesn't really like the thought of being cooped up in a room, she decides the situation is better than it could be.

"Well," Sam decides, sending her a quick smile, "I think that's all for now. Feel free to settle in."

"Thank you," Phoebe nods, sitting back on the bed. She waits until they've left and shut the door till she pulls out her phone.

Phoebe's eyebrows furrow at the message failing. She tries to resend it about 8 times before giving up. She tries to message her friends instead.

Phoebe huffs in response, standing up from her bed. She hadn't yet thought about the fact that Adam and Sarah were paying her phone bill. Didn't think about the fact that it would be getting cut off.

She wants to see her friends, wants to message Hayley.

So, she decides to head downstairs to talk to the Finches.

"Excuse me?" She asks, a little hesitant as she approaches Sam and Jack.

"Yeah?" Jack asks, barely looking up from the football game playing.

Phoebe linked her fingers together nervously, "Would it be alright if I went and met some of my friends?"

She expects them to ask questions, expects a no, but instead Sam just smiles, "For sure. Do you need a ride?"

Phoebe smiles, shakes her head, "Uh, if you don't mind. I guess I don't really know my way there from here yet."

"Let me get my keys." Sam replies, standing and heading towards the kitchen.
